Around 4.30 am Dr Olivia attempted to call an Ambulance again for Qesser but we received the same answer. They could not send one because the prison would refuse them entry and they would have to turn back. Can you imagine an A&E dr cannot get an Ambulance to attend #dr #ambulance #999 #prison

She wants all remand prisoners released. That would include the ones who have committed serious violent crimes. Absolutely zero empathy towards the safety of the victims of these crimes. She is as mad as a box of frogs.

@zarahsultana Bail for all remand prisoners? Even ppl who have committed serious crimes? Ppl who have committed violent crimes? Are you quite mad? Do you have no empathy towards the victims of the crimes these prisoners are involved in? Does the safety of the victims mean nothing to you?

Qesser’s family has confirmed she is safe and is continuing her hunger strike. This is only because of the relentless pressure applied by everyone who protested for her right to medical care. Ambulances should not be blocked. We demand immediate bail for all remand prisoners.

It’s the jaunty tone that really gets me… as if this is something that should excite us as much as Christmas itself, when, in all truthfulness, this sad, inevitable necessity is an absolute tragedy for us all… It’s why we can’t have nice things anymore…

At the risk of repeating myself. There are very, very few 'babies' in the adoption system. Even assuming proceedings begin the moment a baby is born, It will take at least six months for the care proceedings to conclude and probably longer. It will then take another 6 months and probably longer for placement. Most of my cases do not involve babies. To be assessed to adopt a traumatised 3 or 4 year old, you will go through very lengthy and intrusive assessments. You will need to be mentally healthy and financially sound. You may well not be given the full picture of the challenges your child will face growing up, or you may well not find out until puberty hits. If you are a disabled baby or a black male baby, good luck with finding a family! you'll need it. To make adoption in the UK ANY PART OF the discussion about why its ok to sterilise children, shows that we do not, as a society, understand a damn thing about either sterilising children or the realities of adoption.

I am sure it is positive to know you are loved. My point is different; that love cannot 'fix' deep rooted trauma, that was often suffered when the child was in the womb. I think adoptive parents need much more advance notice, training and ongoing support than they in reality get.
