Yeah no, sorry, MPs are often cooped up in Parliament for 15 hours a day, they will have a drink with journalists or colleagues and will still be discussing politics -their job, as Hannah says. I don’t like the blanket demonisation of MPs and Hannah should know better after she had already been accused of not taking the job seriously because she took part in that dancing event in Portcullis house. It was unfair to call her unserious about that then and it is unfair of her to now suggest that MPs having a drink in between votes which take up all night is by default bad.

"You can smell the alcohol when people are in between votes." Green MP Hannah Spencer tells us what Westminster is REALLY like. The full interview is live on YouTube, and as a podcast here: linktr.ee/howtorebuildbr…

@mistressdivy @grok if hypothetically, one organization secretly collected all these scientists, what would they be building given all those different scientific fields?

@ShelaghFogarty Combination of factors; British love of animals, majority of populace's indifference to horse racing, and the waste. Now, I'm sure there'd be more tolerance if the injured horses were eaten afterwards.

Hi Helen. If your freezer is still working, you'll be able to save most of it. Nearly all hard cheeses and blue cheeses freeze very well. Wrap them in parchment paper and in a zip lock bag and freeze it. Defrost it in a fridge (providing you get it fixed or a new one by the time you want the cheese) and defrost it over 24-48hrs. The flavour profile won't change although the texture may become more crumbly, so not ideal if you want them for a standalone cheeseboard, but still perfect for all of your other cheese needs. Soft cheeses like brie/camembert can't be frozen but on the plus side, it means your dinner is sorted for later!

@Helen_Fields I don’t have different values to you. I don’t believe anyone should behave badly to students. That isn’t the point I’ve been making. But we can leave it there.

Lady: do you drink beer? Me: yes. Lady: how many per day? Me: 3. Lady: how much do you pay per beer? Me: $5 each including tip. Lady: how long have you been drinking? Me: about 20 years. Lady: 3 beers a day equates to $450 per month or $5,400 per year. In 20 years, that's $108,000. Me: sounds correct. Lady: did you know that if you put that money into a savings account, that after interest, you would have had enough money to buy a plane? Me: do you drink beer? Lady: no. Me: where's your fucking plane?

The BBC remind me of Ribena. Bear with me… Ribena once tasted delicious. Yes, it was packed with sugar, & probably not the go-to healthy choice, but it had a great taste & many loved it. There were PLENTY of low-sugar alternatives around. Then they changed the recipe ( to avoid paying the sugar tax), & it now has a flavour rather similar to what I imagine sour antelope urine tastes like. When I contacted Ribena to voice my objections, their response was “Many people enjoy the refreshing new taste, & our tests indicate a mostly positive response.” To which my reply was “Oh, FUCK OFF with your nonsense. It tastes MONSTROUS”, which, no doubt, endeared me to them, as one of their more reasonable, erudite ex-customers. The point is these people will ALWAYS circle the wagons, no matter what you think, do or say. They’re simply NOT interested.

Donald Trump’s demand for a billion dollars from the BBC comes from a local Florida law firm. It was sent to the wrong address, and the writer didn’t know what ‘salacious’ really means: ‘Due to their salacious nature, the fabricated statements that were aired by the BBC…’
