As a medical school professor, I've taught about blood transfusions for decades. But this study from Aging Cell just showed that removing blood may be even more powerful. Researchers performed periodic phlebotomy -- drawing just 6% of blood volume every two weeks -- on aging models. Today marks 15 years @SpaceX. I spent last week at HQ in Starbase and couldn’t help but get sentimental. Much has changed since my first day in the office, but a few key things are identical. The mission, the energy, the buzz in the building, and the awe of walking around a rocket factory saying to yourself “do I really get to work here?!?” Thank you @elonmusk and @Gwynne_Shotwell for vibe setting, never changing the mission, and providing this kid from Michigan a chance to work with the greatest team on Earth. What a privilege!

@SpaceBasedFox Correct, should be more like 1/4 boosters and 3/4 ships maybe even less on the booster side 🔥

Something that will probably happen is that as the Starship program matures, the number of upper stages will go from being near equal to boosters, to greatly outnumbering them. As Starships go out on missions for long periods of time, maybe even landing at different places than where they started, boosters will seem more like extensions of their launch sites in comparison to the full fledged spacecraft they carry.

@SpaceBasedFox Better to not compare number of boosters to ships. As reuse improves think of boosters as part of the launch pad with number of boosters asymptotically approaching 1:1 with pads

This is a pretty good take, booster flight is <15 minutes from launch to catch so just start thinking of the booster as a part of the launch infrastructure, asymptotically approaching 1 booster per pad as reuse gets better over time
