FSD 14.3.3 DU, first critical intervention. Drove about 100 k’s today. Mostly suburban streets. Multiple destinations, 5 separate stops (busy parking lots or residential street pullover). It was just SO good, I was mostly marveling, laughing and cheering it on. Then this happened, for no reason that I can see; a perfectly innocuous left hand turn, nothing complicated, the steering wheel got a serious case of the shimmies, and the car headed directly for the little concrete island. It happened so quickly that I took over without thinking. In hindsight, might it have made the turn? No. Might it have stopped before hitting the island? Possibly. Very uncharacteristic, hopefully something that @Tesla_AI can use … It drove beautifully for another 20 minutes after this, just like it had a brain fart and then got over it.

Then when you finally get in one, you decide it’s smart to reach from the backseat, yank the steering wheel multiple times (triggering the safety brakes, alerts, and support calls), unbuckle while it’s moving, and slap one of your own stickers on the car like it’s your personal playground... You violated multiple safety protocals, the team reviewed the footage, they cited property damage, and suspended you for a reason. I actually think your ban should be permanent, in fact. Then, you turn it into a pathetic clickbait video titled “I Got BANNED… So You Don’t Have To!” The Tesla team has poured years - literally over a decade of blood, sweat, and insane engineering hours - to make unsupervised Robotaxi safe and ready for millions. Sure I do crazy videos at times, but I NEVER put Tesla at risk. My eyes are always glued to the front when I’m recording, SUPERVISING, and it’s only my hand (many times my significant other's hand) with the camera moving to show what’s going on in the car. Tesla is tracking my every move - I would NEVER do the shit you did… intentionally trying to fuck shit up. Theres a BIG difference here. Your actions just gave ammo to the critics, it risks even tighter regulation rules, and slowing down the rollout the rest of us have been waiting for. Josh West intentionally grabbed and pulled on the steering wheel of a Tesla Robotaxi during a ride to see what would happen. He did it multiple times from the backseat. The Robotaxi responded by braking, giving safety alerts, and contacting support. He also unbuckled his seatbelt while the vehicle was moving and, after the ride, put one of his own stickers on the Robotaxi. The Tesla team reviewed the trip, cited safety violations and property damage, and suspended his Robotaxi access. Then he turned around and made a video titled “I Got BANNED From The Tesla Robotaxi Network… So You Don’t Have To!” No… You didn’t do this “so we don’t have to.” Nobody needed you to grab the steering wheel of an unsupervised Robotaxi. Nobody needed you to intentionally trigger its safety systems. Nobody needed you to put your sticker on a vehicle that doesn’t belong to you. You did it for content. And this is exactly the kind of stupid shit that pisses me, many investors, and many hardworking employees on the Tesla team off. The @Tesla team has spent YEARS working their asses off to make unsupervised Robotaxis a reality. Engineers have dedicated countless hours to building, testing, and improving this technology while Tesla fights through regulatory scrutiny and proves the system can safely scale. Then a fool gets access and intentionally fucks with the vehicle for a YouTube video. Think about how selfish that is. Millions of people are waiting for this technology to expand. Tesla employees have spent years of their lives working to get it this far. The last thing the program needs is some attention seeker intentionally creating safety incidents for clicks. If you’re lucky enough to get access to a Tesla Robotaxi, respect the fucking technology, respect the vehicle, and respect the people who spent years building it. Sit down and buckle up. Keep your hands off the steering wheel. Don’t put or do shit on a car that isn’t yours. And enjoy the fucking ride. It really shouldn’t be that difficult. nice parking job Tesla Self-Driving 14.3.5…

This will be a bit rough, but I started on 100%, drove 190 km’s, mostly highway at 105 or 115 (Hurry add 5), and I ended up at my destination on about 51%. Model Y LR. On the way back, I hit a bit of traffic which slowed me down to about 80, and I watched realtime as the Wh/km dropped from around 250 to around 180.

@DougSmart What kind of range hit did you have? I know it’s not the same but I’m looking at putting a spare tire on the roof rack

Used the Model Y to carry 4 mountain bikes (mine and the grandkids). It drove us, 2 hours away. Then we did shuttles up the hill. Then I slept in it overnight, on Camp Mode. More shuttles the next day. Then it drove us 2 hours back home. Best car in the world.

@cmk5150 No. The camera was aware that its vision was occluded, and I had a repeating message show on the screen telling me that FSD might be degraded because of it. But it behaved perfectly when driving forward.

@h_topgun1976 @aelluswamy This is a good idea. The location is slightly off my regular routes, but not by much, I could easily add it for a while, especially if I am able to repeat the error.

I did not yet, but I will. I used to have a repeatable shimmy on FSD 13 on a left hand corner that has some similar characteristics; in particular the little concrete island with the pathway going through it. This problematic corner has been fixed for me on V14. But I’ll go and try this particular spot a few times now, and see if we have similar issues.

@DougSmart I bet with this rack design you'll be fine, since it's not extending really far off the back. Just something to be aware of, I guess. Cybertruck withstood like 10x its tongue weight when @ZacksJerryRig load tested it 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I didn’t turn on anything. It’s worth noting that with FSD 13, I could not use FSD with the bike rack (I would switch to Autopilot instead, rather than driving manually). Also, some bike racks have lights etc, and a plug that plugs into the car. Once you plug something in here, the car automatically goes into “trailer mode”, and I doubt that you could use FSD (I haven’t tested this).

@socialmediaend Yes, big time. 250 - 260 IIRC. Of course driving at 115 km/h didn’t help. I was surprised how quickly my range “disappeared”.
