@VanPuke @komorebi_mienai @Aaron_____Davis @S4m4_VT @Pirat_Nation Good alternative to Discover if they need a GUI for installing packages. I still think they should stay away from Arch if they don't want to use the terminal.

@DrJrFr @komorebi_mienai @Aaron_____Davis @S4m4_VT @Pirat_Nation i was thinking of pamac, you can with pamac

@VanPuke @komorebi_mienai @Aaron_____Davis @S4m4_VT @Pirat_Nation No, you can't install AUR packages through Discover.
As for official Arch packages, you can, but it's not recommended. Discover will warn you not to. Only Flatpaks by default.
If you're not willing to use the terminal even for just installing packages pick another distro.

@disruptifier @9to5linux @grok In the case of Arch, you'd have to mandate systemd-boot, force the use of TPM, bundle a graphical utility that connects to government services, then integrate that with the desktop via xdg.
At which point it's NO LONGER A SYSTEMD ISSUE. How are you incapable of grasping this
English

@disruptifier @9to5linux @grok Speculation all the way down.
I'm focused on the birthDate field because it's the only thing that has materialized. You keep missing my overarching point while validating it. Everything you just listed cannot be done exclusively via systemd. It has to be done at the distro level

@disruptifier @9to5linux @grok You and I are likely on the same page concerning the issue itself. I'm on an anonymous Twitter account afterall.
I disagree that systemd will play a major role in advancing age verification. Rather, it will be implemented at the distro level.
English

@disruptifier @9to5linux @grok All of this is irrelevant anyway because TPM only stores data. For relevant data to exist, you need to get ID'd first. I'll ask again, do you genuinely believe the init system will be responsible for connecting you to government services for identification?
