@AdrianTordiffe @alexbraczkowski @ConservationNa1 Lauries assessment of Kuno from 2011 states ‘domestic dogs were abundant including feral individuals.’ I truly hope this effort succeeds but it’s deeply naive to assume dogs won’t be an issue.

@DrLukeHunter @alexbraczkowski @ConservationNa1 I am just saying that I have spent a lot of time in Kuno and have not seen any evidence of dogs in the park or in the buffer zone. We will be monitoring the situation closely and I guess we will find out just how much of a problem they will be.

I am convinced that modern conservation requires active, adaptive management in order to succeed. In the midst of accelerated climate change, habitat destruction, pollution and the 6th mass extinction, we do not have the luxury of a hands off approach.

@DrLukeHunter @alexbraczkowski @ConservationNa1 In India there is also a large amount of food for dogs to scavenge on in the villages. Lots of dead cattle, so there is perhaps little need for them to hunt like they would in Africa 🤔
