As a physician caring for children with #epilepsy and #RareDisease, I regularly have to justify the use of more effective drugs over older less effective medications that are in the same class. No drug company or insurer gives me money based on my prescribing practice.

This is the latest example of how private health insurers prioritize exorbitant profit over patients. We want patients to make decisions with their doctors. Insurers should be held to account if they are dictating treatment choices through denials, delays and #priorauth.

@SouthwestAir @SecDuffy Been stuck sitting on a plane since before 11am (3 hrs so far) to re route, refuel, and now still sitting at a gate with no clear plan. Weather had not started here. We want to be safe and travel. This is not acceptable as none of this was a surprise.

Remember the smaller government argument was not about your rights, cutting your taxes, or a more efficient government. THIS was the goal. Legislative stalemate, loss of faith in leadership, and a powerful executive influenced by wealth and power. Both parties failed Americans.

I can tell you, based on our conversation(s), what I think is best for your XX.” Some families may want to know an expert agreed or gave a plan.

Patients and relatives: please don’t ask me “What would you do if it were your relative?” You are the most important person in my mind when I’m talking to you and I will always do my best for you. It’s offensive to imply I keep some special treatment only for those closest to me.

There is limited data for oral clonazepam for status and clonazepam is not absorbed buccally so may still have limited bioavailability if not able to swallow, vomiting, or hypersalivating. We need better solutions to insurance barriers.
