What an attention-grabbing, meatheaded and kinda dumb thing to do. All of my strongest athletes use weights as low as 2.5s for tons of incredibly effective exercises. As do ALL well trained athletes.
I'm guessing they're either joking for attention (most likely), or just really bad at their job. And the more I think about this the more I'm convinved they're joking

@griffithe @SquatUniversity There are enough machines in that weight room to work the muscles that would require lighter dumbbells. It’s not really a big deal.

@SquatUniversity Not unwise. Freaking stupid. Good way to get these kids hurt!!!! You need small weights to train small muscles. Mobility stuff requires small weights to hit the appropriate range of motion.
