@FluffyRane51146 @JonBurrowsMLA Lots travel both ways and the amount of people from Unionist side that use Dublin Airport… even Jim Allister. Small single island in case you didn’t notice. Almost 2 million cars, 400,000 lorries and vans cross back and forth every day, many to use southern ports/ferries.

@JonBurrowsMLA If it's all Rosie in the republic of Ireland then why are there so many irsh/EU reg cars in northern ireland especially in border laying towns and cities? It's because the fuel is cheaper, the food is cheaper, so tell me the benefits of a united ireland

@JamieBrysonLLB Zealot is a negative word (with anti-Semitic origins). Interestingly the Irish word, díograiseoir, has a much more positive connotation as someone who is enthusiastic with a fervent love for some cause without negative reference to a people fighting to overthrow Roman occupiers.

@EwanMacKenna Would be still better than half the teams there where teams in the Americas North and South have safe passageway no matter how many defeats.

That draw for Ireland is nearly as remarkable as the Portugal and Hungary victories. It's actually nearly as remarkable as what is, let's be honest, a really substandard team having an okay chance of qualifying for the World Cup. But being real, will be long shots in both games.

@kateferguson4 Cornish is a Brythonic language. You know, it gave Britain its name. When a country loses its ancient language and culture, it loses its soul.

Apparently the UK taxpayer is paying towards the protection of the Cornish language Seems a bit mad. Why is taxpayers money being spent on that?

@BelTel The landscape is the gold. Hope locals don’t give in to this bullying. At one stage they were even planning to use cyanide in the mining process. Good job locals objected.

@LPerrins We’re great storytellers and we have the body of work to back it up. There will always be self-loathing Micks up in arms if we give ourselves any bit of praise… you know the type, wagging the finger, arched eyebrow admonishing: self praise is no praise.

@just_Liles @no_way_mr @DavidDavisMP Learn a bit of history. Heroes in Britain like Chichester and Cromwell slaughtered 100s of thousands of Irish. British policies resulted in the starvation of millions. And the first murders in the Troubles were started by British terrorists who killed the most civilians.

The Good Friday Agreement was necessary for peace in Northern Ireland. But, we should not kid ourselves, it also provided a de facto amnesty for terrorists. Suggestions to the contrary are disingenuous at best. My point in my adjournment debate last night 👇🏻

@ashstronge @PassportIRL This is to inform you that you are now in danger of losing your Irish passport. The correct response, to prove your Irishness, was to have a good old moan about the service across all social media platforms.

@Scott85602334 @chrisadonnelly Problem for pro-UK is it’s already under 50% and declining, while the pro-UI are in younger demos about to become voting age. So 41% is a strong base considering what is in store and there appears very little appetite in hardline Unionism to even accommodate Irish culture.

“We’re having a conversation about the idea of having a United Ireland but you need to unite Belfast.” “You need to unite Belfast first.” Note the framing in the BBCNI Borderlands. Why is it assumed it’s ok for Belfast *not* to be united yet still remain in the UK then?

@danobrien20 If we get defence, it should be with the aim of stopping European trawlers from countries like France fish our waters clean. Russia, China are not the ones decimating our territorial waters and agreed fish quotas.

Criticism of Ireland's security and defence free-riding is growing. From France today. NB: the 'TPNW' referenced is a UN treaty to ban nuclear weapons signed by Ireland, but almost no other European country.

It is my understanding Ireland is about to make a motion to the European body governing soccer to ban Israel from playing in European soccer tournaments.   Ireland and others would be punishing the Jewish people 80 years after the Holocaust because they choose to fight back against terrorist groups who wish to kill all the Jews. Hamas started this war. Hamas has put civilians at risk to continue this war. And Hamas is a radical Islamic terrorist group dedicated to the destruction of Israel. They must be defeated militarily and politically.   If these attacks against Israel continue, I will do everything in my power to make those who participate in this effort to marginalize Israel in sports, and elsewhere, pay a heavy price when it comes to access to the American economy. reuters.com/sports/soccer/…

@Sir__Walsingham Give it a rest. You had 77 years of Unionist rule and abused it. There is no majority rule otherwise Givan would ve gone. The GFA has kept him in a job for the very reason we went from majority Unionist rule to cross-party consent.

Funny now how Nationalists, with their subservient lackeys in the Alliance Party doing as they're told, have a majority in Stormont. Majority rule has now become acceptable. So much so, they want to rewrite their 'sacred' Belfast Agreement? We see you.

@Rebel44CZ @Andy_Kavanagh It follows OECD rules. There’s no law requiring a country to be a high tax economy. Every country in Europe could offer 15% corp tax. Of course Ireland is also the most educated and free, and tech companies decided to HQ here. That helps too.

@Andy_Kavanagh 1. that doesnt absolve you from contributing to shared security (and Ireland isnt even providing extra money to others for that purpose) 2. The economy of Ireland is based on being a tax haven within the EU - not exactly a positive contributions...

Ireland should actually finally invest in their own defense, instead of freeloading on everyone else in the EU+ who has at least half-decent military spending... They sure as hell have more than enough money for it...

@AudrandS Ireland like any country in Europe is free to offer 15% corp rate, we follow OECD rules. Giant French and European trawlers take billions every year in overfishing our territorial waters. Ireland is a net contributor to EU. Unlike G7 we are not an imperialist nation causing wars.

Higgins reminded us that, for all the rhetoric about a ‘new Ireland’, the Republic is still steeped in anti-British, anti-unionist prejudices and he provided a one-man rebuttal to naive arguments that those attitudes have changed. newsletter.co.uk/news/opinion/o…

@CatharineHoey @dmcbfs The Irish gov sent representatives from both governing parties: Simon Harris and Jack Chambers. The President went to the Coronation. DUP are just running scared of TUV. That’s okay, neither of them will ever be top party. That day has passed, eventually they will have to accept.
