@joeflood This manual roller method is standard for such coatings on accessible horizontal surfaces—it's precise, cost-effective for the scale, and aligns with how swimming pool resurfacers often work.

They’re painting the Reflecting Pool by hand. This job was supposed to be done by May 22 and cost $2 million. Now it’s July 4 and $13+ million

@GuntherEagleman It started with school supplies. It’s was subtle at first. Since Timmy was ’lucky’ enough to have more new pencils than anyone else, we are going to take all those pencils and throw them in a box to share for those that were not as ‘lucky’ as Timmy.

Elon just endorsed it. Gad Saad dropped the hammer on Fox this morning. We now live in a world where: - Rape victims get less sympathy than their rapists - Homeowners get less than the squatters breaking in - American vets get less than illegal migrants - Repeat felons with 186 charges get 200 more “chances” because “society made them do it” This isn’t kindness. This is suicidal empathy. Universities spent decades teaching our judges, leaders, and elites that personal agency is a myth if you check the right oppression boxes. So criminals become victims, victims become bigots for complaining, and the whole system rots from the inside.

Spencer aside.. you raise some great questions. After years of "professional politicians" running things. Where are the treatment centers? Where is the psychiatric funding? Where is the transitional housing? Where is the county coordination? Where is the state funding mechanism? Where is the emergency management structure? Where is the wildfire continuity planning? Where is the FEMA integration knowledge? Where is the understanding of federal disaster declarations? Where is the understanding that sometimes the White House itself slow-walks aid depending on political calculations?

People need to stop pretending that running a city is the same thing as starring in a reality show and screaming into a camera with good lighting. Because this obsession with turning celebrities into politicians is exactly how America ended up with Donald Trump in the first place. That’s the entire fucking lesson. A man spends decades branding himself as a genius on television, people confuse confidence with competence, then suddenly the entire federal government turns into a loyalty cult mixed with a Vegas casino collapse and a Twitter meltdown at 3 a.m. And now here comes Spencer Pratt trying to cosplay as some revolutionary political figure because he figured out how to emotionally capitalize on public frustration after the wildfires. But frustration is not a plan. Vibes are not a plan. Attention-seeking is not a plan. Being famous in 2008 is definitely not a fucking plan. And the thing that irritates me the most about Spencer Pratt is that every single interaction feels like he’s staring into an invisible mirror behind the person he’s talking to. Everything is performance. Everything is branding. Everything is “look at me.” Even suffering becomes a backdrop for Spencer Pratt’s personal re-launch campaign. Meanwhile Zohran Mamdani — whether people agree with his politics or not — actually behaves like somebody trying to understand human beings. You watch Mamdani talking to people in public housing, in working-class neighborhoods, on the streets of New York, and the difference is immediate. He listens. He asks questions. He engages. He studies systems. He looks like someone trying to absorb information in real time because he understands leadership is about managing interconnected realities, not managing your fucking personal brand. Mamdani came in understanding cities are ecosystems. Spencer Pratt comes in like a man who thinks government is basically podcasting with a security detail. That’s the difference. One understands policy. The other understands camera angles. One is trying to build governance. The other is trying to rebuild celebrity relevance. And what scares me is that America keeps falling for this exact archetype over and over again: the charismatic narcissist who says the most emotionally satisfying thing in the room while having absolutely no understanding of the machinery underneath society. “Oh, clean up the homeless problem.” HOW? Say the actual plan, Spencer Pratt. Because disasters are not solved by charisma. And this is what people who have never worked inside complex systems fail to understand: when a wildfire hits California, there are layers upon layers upon layers of coordination happening simultaneously. Local response. County response. State response. Cal OES. Federal coordination. FEMA reimbursement structures. Emergency declarations. Resource ordering. Mutual aid agreements. Housing logistics. Environmental reviews. Utility restoration. It is not “Hey guys, Spencer Pratt is here with a motivational speech.” This isn’t an episode of The Hills with smoke in the background. And honestly? Spencer Pratt reminds me of the exact same energy America fell into with Trump: the obsession with the loudest guy in the room who mistakes certainty for intelligence. Trump turned the presidency into a permanent reality show because attention is the only oxygen narcissists breathe. And people still haven’t learned the lesson. A government cannot function like a vanity project.

there are people who own multiple homes, take private jets, own 2 yachts, helicopters, and a collection of luxury cars and you think the low income families struggling to buy food and gas are stealing your tax dollars?

Israel is dividing the world in two: societies that have an appetite for genocide and those that don’t. There is NO possible reason that can be used to justify the humiliation, the maiming and the murder (especially of children) that we see everyday in Palestine and Lebanon. NONE. If you think you can, you’re sick, and need help.

NEW: The cost of President Trump's plan to repair the Reflecting Pool has jumped by 88 percent, to $13.1M, gov't records show. The price appears to include a 20 percent profit margin for Trump's handpicked contractor, who got the job in a no-bid contract. nytimes.com/2026/05/11/us/…

Btw, the cost to repair the reflecting pool went from $1.8 million to $7 million and now it's $13.1 million. A reminder that not a single soul asked for that project.
