Rubio's full comment was "Our horses, our ranches, our rodeos – the entire romance of the cowboy archetype that became synonymous with the American West – these were born in Spain." Her comment is one that would go over well in some progressive liberal arts college where everyone would laugh along with her and agree that descendants of slaves and Mexicans were the first cowboys...there'd be no actual discussion about where this archetype that Rubio referred to actually came from.
