@Cobylefko The best Italian plazas are flexible and changing to support markets during the day, and restaurants and nightlife in the evening.

Italian plazas would be so much better if they planted trees. I'm sure there's some historic reason why many do not, but when it's almost 100 degrees, those reasons don't make much sense. No shade cover means no one spends time in what should otherwise be excellent public space

O que faz um espaço público deixar de ser evitado e passar a atrair pessoas todos os dias? No novo artigo, Fred Kent, Steve Davies e Tayana Panova contam como o Bryant Park, em Nova York, saiu de um cenário de abandono e insegurança para se tornar um dos espaços públicos mais conhecidos da cidade. A transformação não dependeu de uma grande mudança estrutural. Melhorias na visibilidade e nos acessos, cadeiras móveis, alimentação, banheiros bem cuidados e atividades ao longo do ano ajudaram a criar motivos para permanecer e voltar ao parque. O caso mostra que o desenho é apenas uma parte da qualidade de um espaço público. Gestão, manutenção, conforto e programação também influenciam como as pessoas usam e se relacionam com esses lugares.

Off-Ramp NYC is a bold emerging vision to bring together the best of NYC in the places that most tear it apart. The BQE cuts through the center of the cultural & economic corridor that can most drive the future accessibility, affordability & innovation of the city.
