@Rodolfoar07 Do you think a long enough clear window for a dry f1 race?

#F1 #MiamiGP 🇺🇸 08:36 LOCAL TIME - It is currently still lightly raining at the circuit. Radar images suggest that the rain will continue for another 40-60 minutes, and then should stop for a dry window. The F2 race may start without rain, but with a wet track.

@pqtdc Yeah I feel like this is gonna be a classic 'spends all week talking about a wet race' then the 90 mins of the race is bone dry lol

@Rodolfoar07 Do you think if they brought the race forward to 12pm, we'd still see a wet race, just actually drivable? Or a dry race?

In my opinion, bringing forward the race time is something that should already be considered, given the consistency of the forecasting models. Maintaining the 4 pm local time is becoming increasingly risky for the race to take place (at least in its entirety).
Rodolfo@Rodolfoar07

#F1 #MiamiGP 🇺🇸 WEATHER UPDATE - The latest weather model output continues to indicate a high chance of showers and thunderstorms (see lightning animation) sunday afternoon in Miami. Current risk of rain by NWS Miami: 60% (8am-1pm) 80% (2pm-7pm) Race start: 4pm

@TheCyberdevil Sweet! Mine should be turning up later too. Is there any special features that are exclusive to the release? Or is it all just content that's already on YouTube?

@pqtdc It's a tiny thing but late ITV/BBC were the absolute peak of f1 edits/intros/montages. Everything sky does is so underwhelming in comparison. Also just feel really nostalgic for those old ones now too haha

@pqtdc This is the thing! I have watched every single race since 07 with him, I know we haven't got long left and so I should just appreciate these final seasons, but I want him to win so bad!

@pqtdc Very true! The hopium will kick in until we get to Melbourne and Ferrari is 1.5 seconds off and Lewis is 0.4 behind Charles 🙃😂

@pqtdc Had a lot of optimism at the time, but definitely starting to feel like that now. And just kinda annoying that his last official win isn't even a race where he got to stand on the top step 😂

@FormulaUR_ @GREEKMASTER99 This is fascinating, and something I really wish was talked about more. I think the number of Q2/Q1 elimination over the last couple of years reinforces the point. As the field had closed up, it feels like his poor execution has just been exposed more and more.

One very basic stat which shows this is how often he has converted his best sectors into actual laptime - across the same era, generation of car, in the same team against the same teammate. Before 2024, he’d average a conversion rate of 8-10 times per season. That is, nailing all his green sectors on his best lap in qualifying. Across 2024 and 2025 entirely, that has dropped to 3 times per season. So even before we look at raw speed, off the bat he’s 3x less likely to pull off 3 green sectors in qualifying than he was a couple of years ago. Compounded with the raw pace, the lack of confidence, the unhappiness with the aero balance of these regulations - you get a driver who is a massive shadow of his former self.

Question for Lewis Hamilton fans (and George Russell fans), what do you think is the biggest reason why Lewis went from comfortably beating Russell most weekends in 2023 to being comfortably beating by him in 2024? It can’t all be down to age

@pqtdc Depressing but true, and I expect Lewis won't put up much of a fight too. Can see Lewis spending most of this race stuck in DRS trains, P8 or P9 most likely

@Scuderiascoop Think it's gone under the radar as its a very private test. No TV coverage of any sort, no media allowed on site. So all we are gonna get from that week of testing is whispers and rumours

@f1forfunatics @Nkprivv0 The funny thing is Lewis literally did have more fuel than Alonso and pitted a lap after him...

@Nkprivv0 There was refueling on pit stops, Cars started with different fuel loads for different strategies. That made a huge difference in lap times. If you going to make such statements without knowing F1, at least do some research.

@f1statsguru Well it was until they took out a bunch of corners. That race length is irrelevant now, it'll barely be 1hr 40m this year.

Why is Singapore the hardest race of the season? 🇸🇬 • Avg race length: 1h 56m • 19 unforgiving corners • Stop-start street layout • 80%+ humidity • 60°C cockpit temps • Up to 4 kg body weight lost F1’s ultimate test of endurance.

I've been looking through the telemetry for other drivers during the reconnaissance laps. Tsunoda went through the double yellow zone 3kph faster than Hamilton. Why no penalty?

@FormulaUR_ Honestly I'm most intrigued to see some race pace comparisons between him and Leclerc the rest of the year. I don't think there has really been a legitimate comparison (outside of China Sprint) where Lewis has looked quicker than Charles on race pace (which is pretty sad)

Hamilton’s season is now over - which can also be a good thing. He’s cemented P6 - unlikely to catch Leclerc and unlikely to be beaten by Kimi or Albon. In that sense, nothing to lose. What I’m still interested in is how his qualifying pace is for the rest of the season. Since Saudi he’s made very small incremental gains there and aside from Hungary that trend seems to be continuing - so if he can put in some good laps and find some form there into 2026 he’ll be pleased. In terms of races, getting back on the podium has to be the aim but realistically that’s it - nothing else to fight for. As well as making similar gains with race pace at Ferrari - which seems to be getting better too. Apart from that - nothing else left.

@pqtdc I would also be intrigued to know if this only got reported because it was shown live on the world feed pre race. I'd be amazed if all 19 other drivers slowed down 'significantly' on every reconnaissance lap.
