#Sabíasque en la Ciudad de México existe una capilla gótica del siglo XIV que fue traída piedra por piedra desde Ávila, España? Sí, leíste bien, una capilla gótica medieval, la cual está acompañada de claustro románico del tiempo de las Cruzadas, (siglo XII)! Te comparto mi reel sobre uno de mis lugares preferidos de la capital, y sin duda uno de los más especiales, donde un fragmento de la Europa medieval, en contra todo pronóstico, encontró un nuevo hogar en la Ciudad de México.

En 1948, Ricardo García Perdomo compuso el icónico bolero ‘Total’. La obra fue estrenada en abril de ese mismo año por su autor, acompañado de su guitarra, en Radio García Serra, en La Habana, Cuba y registrada en junio de 1948.
Se cuenta que la inspiración nació a partir de una mujer a la que el compositor apenas comenzaba a conocer; una historia que no pasó de un breve acercamiento. Aun así, ese encuentro bastó para dar origen a la canción. Por razones que no se conocen con certeza, García Perdomo mantuvo el bolero sin difusión durante más de una década.
Con el tiempo, distintos cantantes comenzaron a grabarla. Entre ellos, Celio González, quien la registró el 18 de enero de 1958 junto a la Sonora Matancera para el sello Seeco. Finalmente, salió al mercado en 1959 y, para diciembre de ese mismo año, ya sumaba cerca de cuarenta versiones, entre ellas las de Lucho Gatica, Olga Guillot y Fernando Álvarez.
Con los años, ‘Total’ superó el centenar de versiones. Una de las más recordadas es la de Bienvenido Granda, realizada en 1969 en la Ciudad de México, donde el cantante se estableció y adoptó al país como su segunda patria. En esta grabación estuvo acompañado por la Sonora Mexicana, bajo la dirección de Rómulo Morán, y posteriormente fue publicada por la subsidiaria mexicana DIMSA.
