This habit of forgiving, only for them to fight us again later demoralizes every anti-corruption crusader. FRAME (A): Mathew Kanyamunyu — November 2016, shot Kenneth Akena in the stomach at Lugogo after an alleged car scratch dispute. Akena later died in hospital. He was later convicted of manslaughter after a plea deal and sentenced to about 5 years and now he’s free. FRAME (B): Christopher Okello Onyum — convicted in the Ggaba daycare killings (2026), where four toddlers were killed at an early childhood development centre in Ggaba. He was found guilty on multiple counts of murder and sentenced to death. Same justice system. Both cases involve loss of life. Yet the punishment sits at opposite ends of the scale. So what exactly determines how justice is weighed in Uganda?

@ntvuganda My opinion on this matter is this. Witnesses in criminal cases are compellable. It's possible that Nyanzi made a statement & regardless of what he said, the state could call him & declare him a hostile witness (coz he won't say what they want), then cross examine him.
