Great meeting today in EEAS with 2 young and dinamic NZ MPs, Minister @JamesMeagerMP and Laura McClure, to discuss EU-@NewZealand_NZ relations.

The EU and the @PressACP (OACPS) are joining forces to support a successful outcome of the 4th UN Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) in Seville. Together, we represent over half of the @UN seats and share a strong commitment to multilateralism, the 2030 Agenda, the Paris Agreement and a more effective and representative international financial architecture. On #WorldDayAgainstTheDeathPenalty, EU and all its 27 MS stand united against the death penalty in all cases. Over two-thirds of countries have abolished it. In 2022, PNG made a historic step by abolishing the death penalty, reflecting our shared values. europa.eu/!DF9PvK

A recent deadly landslide in northern Papua New Guinea has affected thousands of people and left a trail of devastation. In response, the EU is releasing €150 000 to provide emergency assistance.

In response to the devastating landslide in #PapuaNewGuinea, the EU is releasing €150 000 for immediate emergency assistance to the most affected communities. Our humanitarian partners are already on the ground. We are looking at further support.

@EUinPNG extends condolences to families and tribes of the victims of the devastating landslide in Enga Province on May 24. We are aware of the immense sorrow and hardship faced by the communities and we are closely monitoring the situation for possible assistance.
