@eoine_oc @Martina @JoePostingg What is the purpose of gender categories? I'd really like to understand the reasoning behind them, but I've never had a response from someone who advocates for them. Thanks

@Martina @JoePostingg Because the female catg is a gender catg, Martina. And trans women while born male and rightly not allowed to run in competitive athletic events are allowed to run in the Female gender category, coz their gender is female. The whole point of parkrun was to run 5km and get a time

@bernese02 @BradfemlyWalsh @jwhitey98 It's parkrun. parkrun have 'men and women' as genders. Sharon's gang wants 'biological male and biological female' - but that won't go far enough in their eyes. They want parkrun's 23,000 weekly volunteers to also police the registrations to ensure nobody 'cheats' females.

And now they come for Parkrun. PARKRUN. Threatening community run events with legal action cannot possibly be part of protecting women’s sport. For these campaigners, the only thing that seems to matter is the erasure of the trans community from public life.

🔴 Parkrun and nine sports bodies have been threatened with legal action by Sharron Davies over their refusal to ban those born male from their female categories. Letters seen by Telegraph Sport have been co-signed by Baroness Davies and Tracy Edwards MBE telegraph.co.uk/sport/2026/04/…

@speakoutsister You are incorrect. Its not what men look like that For Women Scotland base their discrimination against men in women only spaces on. Its the fact that trans identifying men like all other men are in fact men not women and do not belong in women only spaces, services, sports etc.

So apparently we’re supposed to keep silent about the 650 million women and girls alive today who were sold into marriage as children, as well as the additional 12 million girls who are sold every year, because bringing it up makes “brown people” look bad, and is therefore racist. I really just cannot with these people any more.

Hi Darren, I’m not “banging on”. I’m from a town where more girls were abused by Pakistani-Muslim rape gangs than anywhere else in the country. I was sexually abused by different men from the age of five. I grew up knowing which takeaways raped little girls. Which taxi companies changed their names whenever they had a ‘scandal’. Which estates to avoid walking through alone. I saw countless little girls like me being abandoned by society. Turning to drugs and alcohol and crime to numb the pain of the trauma they experienced. I experienced the industrial failure of victims by powerful people and organisations. I was asked by a detective from Operation Chalice if I “consented to sexual activity” at any point. I was told by my social worker that “my actions led me to where I was.” I’ve heard the horror stories that mirror my own from women 10, 20, 30, and even 40 years older than me. And I’m seeing those exact same stories being repeated with little girls today. So no, I’m not “banging on”. The majority of sex crimes are committed by white men because we are a majority white nation. But the sex crimes committed by migrants per capita is staggeringly high. Far higher than white men. We are facing a migrant rape epidemic. You, Darren, have the privilege of being able to sneer from your moral pedestal. Because you will NEVER experience what I did. Or what the millions of little girls like me are experiencing right now. You will never understand what it feels like. I will continue speaking out. I will continue exposing the truth. I will continue protecting victims. I will continue “banging on.” And I will not be silenced or shamed by the likes of you, Darren.

Mmmm. Very pretty & professional looking, I’ll admit… I’ll also admit I wasn’t instrumental in LGB activism, like Bev Jackson, Kate Harris or Fred Sargeant, but, if I may, I’d like to correct the multitude of errors that litter this statement (again, very pretty, all typed out neatly, by Miffy The Whiffy Gamer… either from some bot or his imagination) But let’s get a few facts straight, shall we? I’ve been a vocally out gay actor since 1990. In those days, if you were gay, & open about it, you were only cast in gay parts. And it was bloody difficult. I worked for The London Gay Theatre Company in 1992 & 1994. I was in many different LGB plays throughout the 90’s, & was interviewed & spoke about being “openly gay” with Gay Times, Attitude, The Pink Paper & many other gay publications. In every interview I gave, it was mentioned (much to my eventual boredom & to the irritation of the gay press, who seemed to be frustrated at me for not believing that being gay was the most interesting thing about me.) In 1993, I was part of the West End cast of “Elegies for Angels, Punks & Raging Queens”, alongside Regina Fong, Simon Fanshawe, Trudie Styler, Kim Cresswell & many others. The show was about those who’d died from AIDS, & every night, we raised a significant amount of money for AIDS charities. We also all performed on the main stage at Pride that year. In 1994, I was in New York during the Gay Games, where I made a film about lesbian ice skating, which we shot on location. I marched with Ian Mckellen (who was also in the film) & Martin Sherman, to celebrate the Games. In 1996, myself & 6 other openly gay actors were part of a successful little indie film called “Boyfriends”. Again, we all vocally supported gay rights in various interviews. In 1997, Stonewall invited me to their Equality Show at the Albert Hall, to high kick with the Tiller Girls, as part of a small group of out performers, including Stephen Fry, Jimmy Somerville, Simon Fanshawe, to encourage others to come out & be proud. Yes, we were actually “celebrated” by Stonewall back then, believe it or not. In 1999, I played a controversial, purposefully vile gay character in Jonathan Harvey’s sitcom ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme’. It was controversial because it was one of the first gay characters that was entirely comfortable with his sexuality, was vulgarly open about it & wasn’t always portrayed in a positive light. The gay press were not happy, initially, but it apparently grew on them. The series continued until 2001. Again, I did interview after interview discussing & championing gay rights. In 2000, I played Bette Midler’s ‘openly gay’ musical accompanist, Oscar, in the short lived sitcom ‘Bette’. Being a series regular, I used my voice in interviews to speak up for gay rights. In 2004, I took part in the first series of Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen, raising £40, 000 for my chosen charity The Terence Higgins Trust, which I publicly supported & endorsed endlessly. Do bear in mind, there was no social media as we know it now. I joined Twitter in 2014. From 2000 to 2014, LGB people had achieved equality & for the first time, it seemed to be ok to be gay. I rejoined the fight online when I saw the damage the TQ+ was now was doing to the rights we’d, as gay people, had already won, at much cost. I was reluctant & angry, as I’d thought we’d been there, done that, bought the t-shirt etc. But no. So if you mean I played no part in the fight for LGB rights, you’d either be wrong or lying. The world didn’t start with the advent of the internet. Perhaps if I stuck on a red beret, a dress, held an Antifa flag & hollered at a crowd through a megaphone to “punch terfs in the f**king face”, I’d already be lauded as a “champion of LGBTQIA+ rights”. Maybe that was my mistake…🤷 Please RETWEET as my reach is yet again severely restricted. Thank you.

🚨🚨INCREDIBLE: A GIRL BEATS BOTH THE BOYS' & GIRLS' TRIPLE JUMP MARKS TODAY IN SOCAL!! Today at the Raincross Invitational in Riverside California, Ab Hernandez of Jurupa Valley High School, got 1st place in the girls’ triple jump with a 41'-¼" breaking the 38-year old meet record in this event and beating the first boy's mark (41'-0") by Shamar Graham of MLK High School. Hernandez also "won" both the girls’ long jump (18’-10”) and the girls’ high jump (5'-8") events. When will this state-sanctioned child abuse end, Governor @GavinNewsom?? The girls are being gaslit and silenced, and the boys are being lied to about biological reality. They deserve our compassion.

🧵Happy "Trans" day of visibility! I believe "trans" visibility is very important, as when many people hear the word "transwoman," they don't actually understand that what is being talked about is a man, often fetishistic and violent. Here is a thread of some "trans" athletes I think deserve as much visibility as we can give them. Starting with Cameron Maudlin aka "Hannah Viramontes" Maudlin formerly played on the Rocky Mountain Thunderkatz, a women's tackle football team in the WFA. Maudlin currently faces charges of sexual assault, kidnapping, and false imprisonment after he punched his female roommate in the face, threatened her with a gun, handcuffed her, and then proceeded to sexually and physically assault her over a number of days. Maudlin told the woman he intended to keep her as a "sex slave," strangled her, and beat her with a towel rack.

Michael "Lauren" Jeska Jeska terrorized the women's fell running scene in the UK for years, taking 3 consecutive English Fell running championship titles along with a Welsh (WFRA) title. When officials questioned Jeska's eligibility, declaring his results void as he failed to comply with the rules, he took two knives to the UK Athletics office and proceeded to stab Ralph Knibbs, head of human resources, in the head and neck in an attack eyewitnesses describe "as though [he] were trying to skewer meat." He also injured the two men who tried to intervene. Knibbs suffered a stroke in the attack and was subsequently disabled. Jeska continues to serve his sentence for attempted murder. He still holds women's parkrun records and is being held in a women's prison.

A few crazy things about this race and the climate at the time. -Melissa Bishop would have been a legend without the DSD athletes. Olympic Gold, World Champ, and a WC silver. -You'd talk to a lot of elite mid-distance women behind the scenes for years and they'd be pissed off, but afraid to get reamed in the media for doing so. Or just realizing that nothing would change. -Canada's head coach who was told after Bishop finished 4th at the Olympics by a lawyer for the Canadian Olympic committee "‘You say one thing about this, I’m going to make sure you’re banned for life in all sports.’” -Lyndsey Sharp did speak up and got torn apart in the media, so the fear was real. It was just a wild time. And many women lost a lot of money and glory because of it.

After today's excellent decision by the IOC.,if the Rio 2016 women's 800m. was held today, the 3 medallists in my photo. Wambui, Niyonsaba & Semenya would be barred and the medals would go to Canada's Melissa Bishop, Poland's Joanna Jozwik & GB's Lynsey Sharp @AthleticsWeekly

Some of what you say at the beginning of your post is correct, but most of what you have written is cherry picked and flawed. #1. Let’s start with embryology, and the “everyone begins the same” claim. You correctly describe the early undifferentiated stage (genital ridge, Müllerian/Wolffian ducts, nipples forming before hormones). You overstate that this is evidence against a binary. Genetic sex is determined at conception when our genome forms. The SRY gene on the Y chromosome triggers male development; its absence leads to female development. Both pathways involve active genetic/hormonal orchestration. It is not a neutral “default” that routinely produces mismatches. Yes, variations exist, but they are exceptions, not the rule. Sex is binary in mammals because reproduction depends on two gamete types. Your framing implies typical trans identities are just natural “overlaps.” This is not supported by developmental biology. #2. Intersex conditions and the 1.3 million UK figure. This is your most misleading claim. You cite ~1.3 million intersex people in the UK (~2% of the population). This echoes Anne Fausto-Sterling’s erroneous 2000 1.7% estimate. This figure has been repeatedly debunked. It includes common, non-ambiguous conditions (CAH, Klinefelter, Turner). These are not intersex. True prevalence of intersex conditions is ~0.018% (about 1 in 5,500 births). These conditions are so rare that the numbers are too small to publish reliably. Most people with DSDs identify with their natal sex and do not identify as transgender. Intersex conditions are medical disorders, not proof that sex is non-binary. Using DSDs in this way is a classic trans activist tactic: conflate rare medical anomalies with self-identified gender identity. #3. Brain sex differences and the cited 2019 Nature paper. Your post claims a 2019 Nature Reviews Neuroscience paper which claims transgender women’s brains resemble female patterns. It’s nonsense. Here are the facts: - Human brain sex differences are small, show massive overlap between sexes, and are not dimorphic enough to classify any individual brain as “male” or “female.” - Most trans brain studies use small samples, often after cross-sex hormones (which alter brain structure), and don’t account for homosexuality. - No neuroimaging can diagnose gender identity; claims otherwise overinterpret correlational data. Yes, brain organization is influenced by prenatal hormones, genetics, and environment, but this does not prove a “female brain in a male body.” You suggest there is settled proof that trans identity is “rooted in biology, not imagination.” No evidence supports this. #4. Historical/cultural “third genders” and the suicide/care claims. Citing hijra, Two-Spirit, or fa’afafine is common but misleading. These were culturally specific social roles—often for same-sex attracted males, eunuchs, or ritual figures—not modern transgender medical transition with hormones and surgery. Equating them is wrong. You cite the Trevor Project’s 2023 survey claiming a 73% reduction in suicide attempts with GAC. This was a self-selected online survey from an advocacy organization, not a controlled clinical study. It cannot establish causation. In contrast, the Cass Review and its systematic evidence reviews found the evidence base for puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones in youth “remarkably weak.” Multiple high-quality longitudinal studies (Sweden, Denmark, Finland) show no reliable long-term mental health benefits and elevated suicide risk persisting after transition. Bottom line. Your assessment is partisan and scientifically sloppy. It treats rare developmental variations and overlapping brain traits as justification for a medical model that recent rigorous reviews deem poorly evidenced, especially for minors. Biology shows human sexual development is unquestionably binary with rare disorders. It’s not a spectrum.
