It needs to be stated that rape statistics for POC are largely unrecorded and unvisited amongst their own communities. Too often it is always directed towards how it only affects black on white crime or vice versa. The fact is that in poor black households and communities child rape and abuse is very rampant, regardless of sex, and to a large degree continues to be ignored. Families dependent on gov assistance do not want to report such matters as it will lead to child protection services entering the home or the breakup of the “family” unit, often compromised of half brothers/sisters or step siblings. This seems to be a non issue for social workers to spotlight yet this is a huge contributor to crime and violence statistics in adults effecting both sexes. The residual impact upon generational futures is massive.
