We are expanding collaboration in science, technology, law enforcement, national defense, and cybersecurity. The United States and Ghana signed a bilateral debt agreement on May 6 to restructure the sovereign debt Ghana owes to @EximBankUS. Timely payment of U.S. debt is essential for us to do business in Ghana, and we urge progress on the outstanding arrears owed to U.S. companies and U.S. higher ed.

Congratulations to Malta on becoming the 65th signatory to the Artemis Accords! I was proud to stand alongside Gregory Mann, NASA's Europe Representative, and Minister Clifton Grima as he signed the Accords at an event hosted by Xjenza Malta. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman and Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg delivered inspiring words on this momentous occasion. Launched in 2020 by President Donald J. Trump and seven other founding partners, the Artemis Accords provide a vital foundation for international cooperation in the peaceful exploration and use of space. President Trump's space strategy includes returning astronauts to the Moon by 2028 through the Artemis Program and expanding the commercial space economy—goals that the Artemis Accords help advance through international partnership. Malta is also making great contributions to space research, studying how space travel affects human blood cells—critical research for long-duration missions.
