Kids may not but I tend to think that parents have some influence where their kids go to school, and if a parent was comfortable with this, then that's good for me Unless maybe you believe (1) YOU should be parenting MY children or (2) you completely stay out of the admissions process and let your kid decide on their own.

So @leoniehaimson , a woman with significant access to officials in the NYC Department of Education, is posting criticism of Dan Goldman where part of her criticism is that she grew up Orthodox and went to a university with a high number of Jewish kids. Sure, criticize AIPAC (I disagree but sure, criticize American Jews who donate to a cause important to them). But bringing up her faith and the fact that she went to a Jewish university? How antisemitic of Leonie. Maybe @NYCMayor @DOEChancellor @NYCComptroller and others should denounce this racist antisemite.

The race between @bradlander & @danielsgoldman is about one issue, do voters support the wholesale slaughter of Palestinians & occupation of Palestinian territory or do they reject it.

the amount of misinformation regarding this plan is crazy. These are crumbling NYCHA buildings in Chelsea. Instead of waiting decades for repairs, they’re rebuilding the complex, increasing the number of subsidized homes and ensuring every NYCHA tenant gets a brand new apartment

The problem is that's the argument that I hear year-after-year, not just in Kindergarten. First grade, second grade, etc. Separating kids is evil and discriminatory and makes some kids feel bad. And that kids who are advanced should learn "empathy" and help others catch up while learning no new academic skills. You know what that taught my kid? That his academic needs came last. How is that good for a kid to feel?

@MaryLuCallahan1 @loud_socialist 100000% this. I'm not sure if you are from NYC. You'd be surprised at how many parents do not agree with you, and will outright say it's not their job. And that is a huge contributor to the gap between kids.

You should tell that to your friends. I've been trying to watch CECD4's meetings and they don't post them at all. If you go to their website, there is the recording from the 12/10/2025 meeting. But that's it for the entire term. @DrKYSR apparently doesn't feel rules apply to her council.

True but then the people in these positions start creating problems which, of course, can only be solved by hiring nonprofits or outside consultants (usually their friends or political allies) for high amounts, and then it spirals. And I’d rather take that $11 million and use it to fund after school programs for 50,000 elementary school kids.

This morning’s Executive Board meeting at the Partnership for NYC broke new ground into a place we haven’t been before. I was encouraged by the board’s willingness to engage more directly in the public arena on issues involving political candidates. With 25 of the world’s leading business voices at the table this morning, we covered a broad agenda for the city - but one issue stood out to highlight: the troubling rise of antisemitism in NYC. We spent lots of time and CEOs made clear they will support me to deploy meaningful resources (millions already in a C4)- against any elected official who enables it in NYC. Our first foray into a place more overtly political + these CEOs deserve credit. We have 800k employees underneath these CEOs + I’m proud these CEOs see the moment and are willing to engage
