Dear @LushLtd, Mark Constantine (@MarkatLush mark@lush.com) & Hilary Jones, Ethics Director, please explain why Lush is celebrating & promoting the removal of healthy body parts from young people in the name of gender ideology. As a lesbian woman & breast cancer survivor, I find this profoundly offensive. Many women have endured mastectomies & other invasive procedures because they were medically necessary, not because of a subjective belief about identity. Women & girls deserve better than seeing life-altering medical interventions presented as something to be celebrated. Please remove this advertising immediately.
Janet Murray@jan_murray

Dear Lush (cc Chelmsford City Council), As a woman who had half a breast removed last year due to cancer, I am writing to raise my concerns about your “Proud of My Stripes” window display. I am also, on behalf of other women who have experienced breast cancer, respectfully requesting its removal. Because mastectomies are not a fashion statement, an identity marker or something to be celebrated. They are something women undergo because they are ill, because they are frightened, because they are trying to stay alive. Around 59,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. Many will undergo surgery - a mastectomy, lumpectomy or other procedure. Others choose preventive mastectomies because they carry a high-risk BRCA gene mutation. If a woman chooses to have her breasts removed to affirm a gender identity, that is her personal choice. I honestly don’t know the number of women who have elective mastectomies for this reason. What I do know is that it is a tiny number compared with those for whom breast surgery is medically necessary and not something to be celebrated. I think I speak for many women who have experienced breast cancer - and for their families - when I say this: Breast removal surgery is not something I regard as cute, playful or empowering. Nor is it something I believe retailers should be celebrating. For that reason, I am requesting that the display be removed and that @ChelmsCouncil apologise for promoting it on social media. Yours sincerely, Janet Murray

13th June, anniversary of the worst day in my life when I lost my brave & beautiful daughter Grace in the Nottingham attacks. Grace was the love of my life. The best of me and the best of my wife Sinéad. Thank you all for coming to grieve with us, the Coates family and a special I’ll thanks to @redrumlisa for being there and representing the warm people of Nottingham. Rev Dr Alan Mair gave a beautiful homily at St Paul’s Church, Lenton. We then walked across and laid a rose for my rose Gracie at Ilkeston Road. 🌹 This is the text of Rev Dr Alan Mair’s homily: beautiful words: my Homily for victims Grace, Barney and Ian June 13th 2026 We need few words to express why we are gathered here on the third anniversary of the brutal attack that left Grace, Ian and Barney dead and Sharon and Wayne who received life changing injuries. We gather with heavy hearts. We come before God carrying grief, anger, confusion, and sorrow. We remember, Grace, Barney and Ian whose lives were cruelty taken.  We pray for each other whose lives have been forever changed. In moments like these, words can seem inadequate. We ask questions that have no easy answers. Why did this happen? Why were precious lives lost? Why does violence continue to wound our communities? The Gospel does not pretend that suffering is easy to understand. Even Jesus stood before the tomb of his friend Lazarus and wept. The Son of God Himself entered into human grief. This reminds us that our tears are not a sign of weak faith. They are a sign of love. And God receives every tear we shed. We entrust them to the mercy of God, confident in the promise of Christ who said, "I am the resurrection and the life."  Death does not have the final word. Through His death and resurrection, Christ has opened the way to eternal life.  A tough concept to understand.  But last Saturday at the hockey tournament I felt the presence of Grace.  On the stands at the City Ground, I am certain Ian was cheering the fact that Forest stayed up while West Ham were relegated.  I am certain too that Barney’s cricket club feel his gentle presence as they go out to bat. Yet our prayer today extends beyond remembrance. We also pray for healing. We pray for parents whose hearts have been broken, for brothers and sisters, sons and daughters who miss a loved one, for friends carrying trauma, and for communities living in fear. The Christian response to violence is not indifference. Nor is it revenge. St Paul tells us: "Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good." This is one of the hardest commands in the Gospel. Yet history shows that hatred never heals hatred. Violence never truly defeats violence. Only love, justice, mercy, and truth can break the cycle. We are called to become instruments of peace. In our homes, schools, parishes, and communities, we must build a culture where every person knows they are valued and loved. We must support young people, strengthen families, and work for justice. We must refuse to accept violence as normal or inevitable. The Church stands alongside all who suffer. We believe that even in the darkest moments, God has not abandoned His people. The Cross itself seemed like a victory for violence and death. Yet God transformed it into the source of salvation and hope. The resurrection assures us that darkness does not overcome the light. And we ask the Lord to make us bearers of His peace, so that through our words, actions, and witness, we may help build a society where life is cherished, communities are healed, and every person can live without fear. May the souls of all who have died through violence rest in peace. And may the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds, now and always. Amen. @EmilyMayTV @ITVCentral @SkyNews @MartinDaubney @redrumlisa @nottm_post @downingstreet @wesstreeting @jamesmurray_ldn @AlexDaviesJones

This is Callum Peacock. He battered his girlfriend with a golf club, threw bleach and paint at her, and burned a memorial shirt of her deceased grandmother but has avoided an immediate prison sentence. The 19-year-old defendant, from St Helens, subjected his partner to a cruel three-hour ordeal inside their home. Police officers arrived at the flat to find the victim covered in white paint and curled up in a ball on the bathroom floor. She was audibly sobbing and shrieking through a hole in the door, which was still smouldering and smoking. During the assault, the teenager hit her with a broom handle and a golf club before putting her in a chokehold from behind. When she tried to hide in the bathroom, he smashed the door with the golf club and used an aerosol and a lighter to set fire to it. He then threw dumbbells and a bottle of bleach at her, causing the liquid to splash onto her body. In what was described in court as an extremely selfish act, he took hold of a memorial t-shirt featuring a photograph of her deceased grandmother. He set fire to the garment right in front of her while telling her that her nan would rot in hell. The attack came just two days after another incident where he struck his girlfriend with a hammer following an argument. Following his arrest, he openly threatened his victim in front of police officers, stating that he was going to smash her face in when he got out. But he has now walked free from court after a judge handed him an 18-month imprisonment suspended for 18 months. The court heard he had already spent nearly five months in custody on remand, which the judge noted was the equivalent of a nine-month sentence for a teenager with no previous convictions. He was also given a five-year restraining order and a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 20 days. Another kick in the teeth, metaphorically speaking to the brave young woman who endured his cowardly attacks. The justice in this country cares more about the accused than the victims.

Now that’s how it’s done. A quick win for our country, quick win for the people and an example of how decisions should be made by the heads of departments. This is the kind of departmental leadership people in the country want. Thank you Pat for listening to our campaign. There’s a lot of sensible & good to do. Regards. Vickrum Digwa’s brother, Gurpreet Digwa, 27, lied to police that Henry Nowak hadn’t been stabbed and had racially attacked his brother, perverting the course of justice. Police also recorded him conspiring with Vickrum in a police car. Six months later, he was arrested on multiple weapons charges and is currently on bail. Meanwhile, Reece Robinson, 21, threw two stones at the Southampton police protest, hitting no one, and was jailed for 2 years and 1 month within 7 days.

Really @BBCNottingham ? Perhaps dig a little deeper. Perhaps question this father’s ‘hopes’ a little deeper. Perhaps question why this key witness would not appear to give evidence and answer key omissions. So disappointed. Barney Grace and Ian deserve better. ➡️ If only he'd thrown a traffic cone. ⚠️ Christopher Hunt, 74, caught with 102,000 horrific images of very young children being tortured and r-ped, has walked free. Defence called it "an unhealthy interest". Recorder John Hardy gave Hunt credit for his lack of previous convictions - and ordered 100 hours unpaid work and 10 days of "rehab". Absolutely sickening

I have a huge problem with this. (feel free to share)…… Calocane senior’s vague and watered down written evidence is denying us of answers we have the right to hear. He was given permission not to appear despite numerous appeals from the survivors and bereaved legal teams. It is a decision that none of us were happy with. AT ALL. Statements only are one way information. I didn’t care if he had a private and remote link. If language is still a barrier for him then use a translater (the young student from Italy who broke her back escaping from Calocane managed to do it). The Inquiry knows this. They know how we feel. Sadly we are powerless and bound by the decision. No doubt this post will cause consternation. But it’s my point of view and opinion. And I will always be fully transparent. He has information we deserve to hear. Proper answers with detail and evidence that go beyond short sentence answers. We know that there were serious fractures in this family: - the ‘scratch injury’ over a washing up argument resulted in the Police attending an assault. - why did they not know where he lived for much of his 20s? - it appears he refused to give them his addresses. It appears they thought he was in Newcastle yet he was in Birmingham ? - arrived in Wales when he was 16 and by 19 he had left home because ‘he didn’t like his father’s rules. - disagreement over - very ‘devout’ Christian beliefs (read the text messages BOTH ways) between the two brothers. - family history of mental health issues. - detail on action taken by the family (including the father) on the two episodes in 2021 when Calocane drove five hours in a psychotic state to sit outside the family home. - how could the family, including a registered Nurse, not know of his illness when they were both present with Doctors and asking questions about depot meds (which are used for medical conditions such as paranoid schizophrenia which was also actually diagnosed as early as Sept 2020. It’s in the notes!). Did they not talk to each other as parents? - he doesn’t appear to have the concerns about suicide that his son Elias evidenced so strongly in his evidence? - dates when he saw and spoke to his eldest son between 2020-2023 (less than a handful of times we believe). - question about that final call made to him late night on the 12th June. What action did he take, what did he discuss with his wife. - clarification of regularity of calls or emails with VC in 2023. We were told family had lost contact with him? - clarification of when he knew what his son had done (seems a rather casual reference to such catastrophic news). Despite how this may appear. It is not vindictive or bullying. What is apparent from the new evidence that has come forward during the inquiry is that there is much more ‘history’ than has been previously revealed about Calocane and his family. This is important and it is relevant. His child destroyed my family. He stole my son from us. Surely to have the chance to have answers and the truth is the very least I/we are entitled to? @drsanjoykumar @coatesaholic @CoatesMania
