@MAGAMAHACindy Market value goes up, cost of county/city services goes up, why would it not hit property taxes? Want lower property taxes, move somewhere with less infrastructure. Getting gouged at an unfair hike? Take it up with city council and eventually the state and get the law changed.

Hypothetically…….. We are being taxed on money we never made. Let that sink in. If I bought my property outright for $160,000 in 2009 Now the county says it’s worth $446,000. Did I sell it? No. Did I make a profit? No. Did I get a check for $446,000? No. But my taxes jumped like I did. That’s the problem. This isn’t income. This isn’t cash. This is a number someone decided on paper and now I’m being billed for it. If my stock portfolio doubles, I don’t pay taxes until I sell. If my income doesn’t increase, I don’t magically owe more income tax. So why does owning a home work differently? Why am I being taxed on unrealized gains? A house isn’t just an investment, it’s where people live. And this system means you can do everything right, pay off your home, and still get squeezed harder every year because of a number you never turned into money. You don’t truly own something if you can be taxed out of it. This isn’t about “services” or “inflation.” It’s about being charged for value you never received. It’s time people start to notice.

Park to charge, go grab a coffee or snack, talk to people or walk around for a few minutes or catch up on email. Or nap if needed.

I'm going to assume you're not purposely missing the point. With an EV, you rarely actually stop to charge somewhere unless you're road tripping. Most EV owners aren't road tripping so frequently that they need to stop and charge. You're charging at home. You can't fill your gas car up at home. I have both a V8 and a Tesla. So far this year I've spent more time at a gas station than any charger (0). If you need to frequently drive 300+ mile stretches in one go then you're part of the edge case and EV's probably aren't for you right now.

And for the #teslarites who don’t understand 500 miles. Time is money. How long does it take to pump a tank of gas? 4-5 mins versus 30. Early last week I went up to the Yosemite area (about 300 miles.) I got up there, did my thing and got gas (5 mins) and drove back. With a Tesla. It would be drive up (maybe on one charge) charge up 20-30 mins, do my thing. Drive back, stop along the way to recharge (again probably another 20 mins…) That’s too long. 500 would be one recharge so it’s 10 mins gas versus 29-30 mins which I would consider.🤷🏼
