@NWLB_Efficiency @WeMustBeNets Knicks were initially seen to have overpaid for Brunson. Sometimes younger guys have untapped potential. All about upside!

I’d much rather overpay in a trade for a 24-year-old Franz Wagner or 23-year-old Paolo Banchero than an early-to-mid-30’s guy like the Nets have traditionally done in the past (KG, Pierce, Harden). Worth the risk
NWLB (Net Weighted League Bargain)@NWLB_Efficiency

@BrooklynNetcast Curious, why Franz? I am not a huge fan of him. He just has the vibe of someone the Nets would overpay for (Whether thats $ or draft capital) and set them back longer. Love all the other players on this list though!

@30fcs As a contender you gotta take swings. Sometimes they miss. Cloud was never the backcourt fit with Sab we were hoping she’d be, so I’m glad they’re pivoting.

@damianoneillco2 @alexaphilippou @Khristina @ClassicJpow Agreed completely! She was sorely missed last season. I’m less convinced on wanting Cloud back. The team was definitely worse with her last year. Don’t think she and Sabrina are a good fit in the backcourt after all.

Can confirm that the New York Liberty have signed Rebecca Allen and Pauline Astier to one-year deals. Allen spent her first seven WNBA seasons with the Liberty. Astier is a French PG making her WNBA debut. Both key reserve pieces. @Khristina, @ClassicJpow were first on these

@joenee103 @Partytime335 @madkenney True! But if she’s like the 9th player, she’s not a core rotation piece. She’s someone you can turn to if you’re struggling to generate offense. Isn’t that the exact kind of player you want at the end of your bench?

@joenee103 @madkenney She’s a perfect bench microwave scorer. When’s got it going, she can come in and rattle off a quick ten points, each shot crazier than the last.

Question for the group: has there been any great art about Covid? Any incredible literary novels or films? I can't think of anything off the top of my head but my cultural knowledge is not limitless.

@NoChillAdil @StantonsLeftNut @NetsDaily Listen. I’m a NJ-based Nets fan. I had half-season ticket in HS, and I still have ticket plans now despite the challenge in getting to Barclays. They barely sold out ECF games during the Kidd era. Pains me to say but hey have WAY more support now than they ever could’ve in NJ.

@StantonsLeftNut @NetsDaily Majority of Nets fans still are in Jersey or from Jersey originally that’s just a fact. Some younger New Yorkers like yourself might be rooting for the nets now but older ones are almost exclusively from Jersey, or brooklyn transplants from California

@KadeemRatcliff Rondo, Nash, James in that order. Rondo’s playmaking was not as devastating because he didn’t draw the same attention as a scorer.

@OSUmindfucksYou @HaydenWinks I mean, I would *love* to live in a world in which NFL teams cared more about innocent women, but unfortunately, history strongly suggests they do not.

The Tua contract is something else. Dolphins options assuming they don't want him as a starter in 2026: 1) Release with NFL record $99M dead money 2) Trade him, but acquiring team takes on $54M guaranteed. Dolphins likely would need eat some of that to trade him away.

@BillyReinhardt I’ll do you one better (worse): in a dynasty league, I traded him and a future rookie draft first round pick in a package to get Burrow (2QB league) and Taylor.

@BrandonMusicKy @admcrlsn For who you call, yes. But the overwhelming majority of calls aren’t answered (pollsters get something like a 1% response rate). And that 1% is never going to be representative of the electorate. So what do you do? You weight based on what you think the electorate will look like.

It’s not some big mystery, turnout was huge & your LV model likely indexed too heavily to R-friendly 2021 and/or 2024 electorates. In polling you make assumptions. Sometimes they’re wrong. It happens! But a “a random sample of 100,000 NJ voters” is absolutely killing me.

We were disappointed, and honestly, angry over our New Jersey polling. Our first September Labor Day poll showed Sherrill +10. By late September, after debates, campaign controversies, and the Kirk assassination, everything changed. The race tightened fast. More Republicans entered the likely electorate and independents started breaking for Ciattarelli. We confirmed this again in late October: Sherrill +3 from a random sample of 100,000 NJ voters showing Republicans fired up and turning out. However, the Democrats were holding the edge and keeping a breakout from occurring. We rather easily detected potential for a +5 to +6 Sherrill victory despite our polling showing +3. Notably, Sherrill was only marginally improving with Hispanic voters, showing similar margins to 2024. While our last poll did show black voters finally swinging her way. We had Ciatt at single digit support among black voters. Then election night happened and the results stunned nearly everyone. Exit polls, turnout, demographic margins, and the final numbers made little sense compared to virtually every public survey. It wasn’t just us. 99% of pollsters missed it at similar scale. Something unusual happened in New Jersey, and we’re still unpacking why.

Well, until stuff like this gets banned in Grand Arena, play stuff like this. Do not try to go combo heavy decks. There are no cubes so winning with a combo isn't getting you anything if you're trying to maximize win ratio.
