@EricMattingly1@Nick_Hand Why would they want a 28 year old kyru at 8 million a year with a NTC when they could have a 19 year old Stenberg for league minimum?
@IamScottSinger1 This years draft isn’t as highly rated as many years so I think they could trade up for a heavy but not exorbitant price. I’m good with moving up or turning them into young talent that’s NHL ready this year or next. Possibly package them and some players to do both?
Blues have no need for the 11th, 15th, & 31st picks. Gonna be interesting to see how they trade them…because they need to. Move up or move a couple for proven young talent. #stlblues
@SensFan97_ I’m of the opposite opinion. I think all 16 non-playoff teams should have a shot at number 1. Odds should be closer so each team has better odds. Stop rewarding teams not trying to win. Make them field competitive teams more frequently.
I’m not even saying this because the Leafs won the lottery but I really wish they would change the odds for the lottery. IMO it should only include the bottom-5 teams:
32nd = 50%
31st = 30%
30th = 10%
29th = 7%
28th = 3%
@OleTimeHardball How the F&@k does he not get in. Strictly should get in just off the difference in the number of steal attempts against him compared to the next team. Teams were scared to try to steal against him.
@Nick_Hand I know fans are high on neighbors but I’d be open to a including him, either 11 or 15 (not both) CO pick and another young player not Jiricek/Snuggs/Carbs/Dvorsky/Stenberg. Add more draft picks or a veteran if needed. We can’t weaken our D.
@ForRealTheWorst@Nick_Hand I think SJ specifically would want a younger defender. Not sure Blues would trade both 11 and 15. Would probably rather trade more players or more picks with 1 of the 2. Parayko reportedly did say he’d go west but I’m not sure he will be moved.
@JoeInTheKnow4@Nick_Hand I think they might knowing that Kyrou would expect to perform better on a line with Celebrini. I think the ask would be Kyrou, 11 or 15, CO pick and a young Defender. Stenberg is expected to be elite but not Franchise caliber. Adding speed, experience and proven production.
@Nick_Hand Never, ever going to happen. The Sharks know they already have 20 year old 115 point player that just got even more dangerous with stenberg on a line with him
@Y98Ryan@Nick_Hand I don’t think they should/would have to pay all that. The top 2 picks are elite talent potential but not franchise caliber based on the experts.
@NathanT78802527@Nick_Hand I think they would take that plus maybe a third round or the CO pick but I don’t think Blues should trade both 11 and 15 unless there’s more on the return.
@BluesProspects1@Nick_Hand I wouldn’t trade any of our D prospects other than Tucker/Kessel. Wouldn’t trade Snuggs/Carbs/Dvorsky/Stenberg. I’d trade neighbors before them. Kyrou, 11 or 15 and another pick possibly CO. Top 2 picks are expected to be elite but not franchise so price shouldn’t be ridiculous
@Nick_Hand I’m doing a whole lot to get the Stenberg bros together. Every prospect is on the table not named snuggerud. Might be willing to throw a certain name out there if there willing to add or even throw in a previous number 2 overall pick
@irocz11@STLBluesViews I’m curious how expensive though since this draft is expected to have elite but not franchise talent. The top 2, then 3-13 or so are expected to be good. I don’t know if the price will be as high as other years. I wouldn’t trade both 11 and 15 but 1 and the CO and a player sure
@EricMattingly1@STLBluesViews trading any higher than 8 would be insanely expensive and not really worth it. Rather just keep the 3 picks and use the assets later if there isn't anyone they like before the draft.
Barring a trade-up, this will be the 18th straight year STL doesn’t have a single-digit (top-9) pick in the draft. The longest stretch in the NHL by far.
There’s still plenty of options with picks 11, 15, and anywhere from 27 to 31. The scouts have earned our trust. #STLBlues
@jackrichrdson I really don’t understand the reason of doing the 4 digit code? Make each positions chance a whole percentage and then drop 100 balls in split by the percentages and then draw them at set intervals and that’s the order. Once a teams ball is picked you just redraw if picked again
@STLBluesViews The top 5 are expected to be really good players but not sure I’d package 2 top 15 picks for any of them. 1 and some later picks or a player to move up that high is ok but I don’t know that the talent difference from 5 to 11 is that great. Excited to see how the lottery goes.
Mailloux scoring the GWG and Thomas getting a hat trick against Utah is a pretty hilarious way for the season to end. Give us that 10th (or 11th) overall pick.
16-4-3 since March 1st. Incredible. Nobody’s better at winning meaningless games than your St. Louis Blues! #STLBlues
@STLBluesViews One thing to keep in mind is the last 3 games the other teams were sitting up to 9 regulars for rest for the playoffs. Assuming we don’t win the lottery and move to 1 or 2 pick, I’m not sure it’s worth trading 11 and 15 to get up to top 5. No generational talent expected.
@hoferr63 I’d give it to 55. He showed at four nations that he’ll drop the gloves and has been a Blue his whole career. Good to fans and veto’s a trade to stay here. Also from the Cup champion team.
@ForTheNote I want them, especially the younger guys to play well but I want them to lose by 1 every night here on out. The higher draft pick not only gets a top tier draft pick but makes our later round picks slightly more valuable for us or trade.
Do I want the Blues to have a great draft pick in a transitional year? Of course, and I’ll be thrilled if it happens. But I will *never* root for them to lose. If you really love the Note, you should know exactly what I mean. LGB, every night, no matter what. #stlblues
Even though I want a high draft pick, I am absolutely intrigued to see how Mailloux and Dvorsky develop over the remainder of the season with elevated opportunities.
