@ATwiss99 @JoshYohe_PGH I think that’s exactly the trade off the league is looking for, but I’m honestly not sure it works. The Knights might just be pissed enough to say fine, take the pick and we reject any requests for permission to talk to Bruce Cassidy for the duration of his contract.

@borbandy @nielsonTSN1260 Oilers can’t give them a pick for Cassidy and the only chance the Knights ever allow him to go to Edmonton now is if they get back. I’m not even sure that’s enough. League is leaning hard on the CBA language here. Vegas will lean just as hard on the contract restrictions.

The league 100 percent makes the right call. What Vegas was doing was indeed “flagrant”. A fine on its own would not have been enough. Docking a pick sends a message.
