We've made two slight alterations to the #GBRailTrends COVID graph: 1. We've used a dotted line for the DfT's "provisional" rail passenger data, which accounts for the dip at the end of the trend line that disappears with the newly released data.
This #TransitCapacityComparison looks at high speed maglev systems: the Shanghai Transrapid (operating), Chūō Shinkansen (under construction) and #Hyperloop (proposed). We've also included the UK's second high speed rail line, #HS2. Do the figures match your expectations?
Worth saying that, if we really have started bumping up against the 100% line (the data is a couple of weeks behind) then this is evidence that rail growth has been massive this year, as millions are still on furlough and many are still not commuting... twitter.com/PermanentRail/…

The Government has a target to see 30% of land and sea recovered by 2030. BUT that can’t happen as long as @HS2Ltd continues to destroy precious woodlands, wetlands and meadows. Ask your MP to support the HS2 parliamentary debate and speak up for nature. wtru.st/MPs-HS2-debate
