very funny that they are getting bombed for pulling tedious easy infinite enablers from a beta. making iron clad (one of the best crafted characters in, like, anything ever) as fun/flexible as he was in STS is going to be a real challenge and "go infinite every run" is not it.
Mega Crit ⚔️ Slay the Spire 2 Out Now!@MegaCrit

Hey everyone, we appreciate all the feedback on the recent beta patch! Since we have a lot of new players that weren’t around for StS1’s Early Access phase and players who are new to Early Access games in general, we wanted to explain our patching methodology a bit. (1/4)

@Dayhaysoos @luria_justin @PhiDXGames @PezzimanFGC this gets exaggerated with mechanically unique releases: 3S and T4 had unique communities without a big bleed over from prior entries who kinda... stopped after their games were done. TTT/SFII players skipped T4/SFIII, 3S and T4 players largely quit rather than play SFIV/T5

@Dayhaysoos @luria_justin @PhiDXGames @PezzimanFGC having covered MMA for a bit, I think it and tekken have some similar dynamics including that the average "fan time" is (I reckon) ~7-9 years. most people love it for about that long, then drift away. so tekken bleeds away most of any given generation after about 1-2 releases

Namco saw the sales were bad for Tag 2, but what they don't realize is that the entire community was cut in half transitioning from T5 > T6. The way we currently feel about Tekken 8 was how the OGs felt about rage and bound being introduced. They complained about comeback mechanics hurting the competitive integrity of the game. Most faded away over time, but they would coach or support their scene regardless of the disagreement in direction. The other half of the community that stuck around for Tag 2 REALLY held it down. My weeklies were being held in side a Metro PCS for christ's sake! We had to be like top 5 most loyal community on earth. The enthusiasm we had for Tag 2 laid down the foundation needed for T7 to flourish the way it did. However, Namco took the "failure" of tag 2 and saw how much better T7 sold. They figured the new mechanics around rage drive/art were the things that made it sell so well, so they cranked that shit up all the way for T8. Right now we're seeing the same cycle repeat. So many people who have been around forever are dropping off. At the same time, there ARE people that love Tekken 8 staying around, which is cool. Maybe the next Tekken will pop off again because of the new generation? All I know is things should not be the way they are right now, man.

When I was at university a Nigerian on my engineering course told a joke about corruption I adapt it for the present: So a Pakistani engineer, a Nigerian engineer and an English lawyer go to visit each others country after graduating. Nigerian visits the Pakistani guy. Says "You did well for your self, expensive car, huge house you were a bit of a waster at university, how come you did so well for yourself?" Pakistani guy rubs his hands together and says "I went into the Civil Service, see that bridge over there... 20%" Few years later Pakistani guy visits the Nigerian guy. Says "Wow you are doing even better than me you have a fleet of cars, a mansion, security your own jet, your were an even bigger waster than me how come you are so rich" Nigerian guy rubs his hands together and says "I went into politics. See that bridge over there... 40%" Another year passes they both go back to England and visit the English guy. He has a lovely property and expensive car as well. They both say "You were the biggest slacker of all of us how come your are so rich?" English guy points and says "I stayed in Law, See that bridge over there?" Nigerian guy says "No"

We have spent £180m on plans for a tunnel under Stonehenge. The project is now scrapped. You can be for a tunnel & think spending is a good idea (even if you think the cost of planning is silly). You can be against a tunnel & think spending is a bad idea. But *nobody* can be for spending on this scale with zero result. And yet that is a peculiarly British outcome. Nobody will be reprimanded. Nobody will see their career affected. But that’s £180m of taxpayer money just wazzed up the wall. Totally without repercussions. Multiply this by airport expansions & train route plans and Thames crossings and power stations and other examples you can think of yourself, and… soon you’re talking serious money.

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

Sunni Kirkites (followers of ErikAisha Kirk, the Kirk podcast cohost sahaba) Shii Kirkites (followers of Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson) Candace's Charlie receipts are like the Ghadir Khumm hadith where Charlie Kirk appoints Candace as his khalifah. The people doing sahih (kathib) al kirki is his wife and podcast companions releasing his mysterious "Stop" unreleased book. Kirk's TPUSA companions all sold his legacy out and suport Aisha Kirk's deviation from what Charlie al Kirki stood for. The Turning Point sahaba claim they hold the real truth to what Charlie said and would've said. ErikAisha Kirk published an unreleased book allegedly written by Charlie right after his death. They claim to be in true orthodoxy with what Charlie preached. They even said "He wanted Erika to be president." Which is absolutely makthoub Kirki hadith. Candace says no and is fought and ostracized and forced to preach Shia Kirkism from some bunker.

the year is 2035. coders form the permanent underclass, ruled over by readers of Proust and Faulkner. Sam Altman spends billions on eng lit profs to teach him how to read Ulysses. but it eludes him, endlessly.
