The carnage continues in Gaza while the world seems to have somehow accepted this as normal.

The monstrosity of our time. We know and pretend not to know. We give it other names, we make up excuses. Israel is erasing Palestinians from Palestine - starving, torturing to death, pulverising homes, schools, churches, trees, human bodies, burning them in tents - and we call is "self-defense". Israel's self-defense is the defense of ideological hatred turned political doctrine. And genocide.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is beyond catastrophic. Winter has arrived, affecting a devastated population left homeless, ill, wounded, malnourished, and heavily traumatized. How have 2.3 million people - half of them children - slipped out of the int'l community's concern?? The UNSC must urgently act to halt the genocide in Gaza. If political obstacles like the US veto persist, it's about time for the General Assembly to advance the Uniting for Peace resolution.

"We cannot allow, in a way that is akin to a Clockwork Orange, that the live-streamed genocide and its associated apathy desensitise us to the violence, normalise the oppression, dissociate us from its moral failure, or to legitimise the illegitimate. We cannot allow it to clockwork us into a conditioned acceptance of the unthinkable."

It’s raining in Gaza. During Israel’s genocide, this means 2 things: 1. Around a million forcibly displaced Palestinians in tents are drowning in rainwater 2. There isn’t enough sunlight to charge our devices with solar panels, which will leave us in darkness for the rest of the day

Tremendous effort yesterday as 1,000 braved brutal weather conditions and public transport cancellations to demand a full ban on arms sales to Israel on our national demo in Glasgow. A true testimony to the determination of our movement: we will not stop, we will not rest! ✊🏽

Kill all the healthcare workers and no one is left to treat the wounded, aid the newborns, ease the pain of the mothers. They die. Kill all the journalists and no one is left to tell their stories. The slaughter is ignored. Every killing of every Palestinian is intentional.

Gone is a genocidal president too hypocritical to admit it. And in comes a genocidal president who wears it as a badge of honor.

The vote by the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) against @UNRWA this evening is unprecedented and sets a dangerous precedent. It opposes the UN Charter and violates the State of Israel’s obligations under international law.  This is the latest in the ongoing campaign to discredit UNRWA and delegitimize its role towards providing human-development assistance and services to #Palestine Refugees. These bills will only deepen the suffering of Palestinians, especially in #Gaza where people have been going through more than a year of sheer hell. It ⁠will deprive over 650,000 girls & boys there from education, putting at risk an entire generation of children. These bills increase the suffering of the Palestinians & are nothing less than collective punishment. Putting an end to UNRWA & its services will not strip the Palestinians from their refugee status. That status is protected by another UN General Assembly resolution until a fair and lasting solution is found to the plight of the Palestinians. Failing to push back these bills will weaken our common multilateral mechanism established after World War 2. This should be a concern to all.

Doctor Hussam will be forever remembered as the doctor who refused to leave his patients despite Israeli army threats. The cost was his son, Ibrahim. This strikes me to the core of my heart and soul as a parent… idk a name for the kind of pain…
