@sharghzadeh That sentence doesn’t even make sense. “A silhouette of clothes”?? What?? And gauche is a word that you *need* to learn as a sight word so you’re proving the opposite of point. gah. I hope this is rage bait.

Reading comprehension is free. “Child pregnancy is abuse” does not translate to “I hate my existence.” Both can be true, I’m glad to be alive. A 13-year-old should never be forced to give birth.

James Blake has asked Ye to remove his production credits from the 'BULLY' song "This One Here" because the released version isn't the same as the original they worked on together Blake said that his removal request is not personal. He just doesn't want to be credited on songs anymore where he can't “affect the end result.”

@DXMIMZY @00yisan @Pirat_Nation What does this even mean? We have ways of knowing something, and ways of approximating others. And you should have been taught to know what lens you’re reading from and what bias’ might arrive from there. The world is not a marvel movie lmfao

@00yisan @Pirat_Nation Who's to say our own history books are historically accurate? We kinda just found out from our own government that the last century has been a bunch of lies. Either way, this teacher is creative to use a child's interest in video games, to show them historical information.

Today, I’m releasing the City’s preliminary budget. After years of fiscal mismanagement, we’re staring at a $5.4 billion budget gap — and two paths. One: Albany can raise taxes on the ultra-wealthy and the most profitable corporations and address the fiscal imbalance between our city and state. The other, a last resort: balance the budget on the backs of working people using the only tools at the City's disposal.   The first path matches a structural crisis with a sustainable and fair solution. I know where I stand. New Yorkers voted for bold change and competent leadership. We will deliver both, and we look forward to partnering with Albany to protect working New Yorkers.

You got to give lots of credit to Eileen Gu for responding brilliantly back to the reporter with great confidence. She looked him in the eye said that was a "ridiculous perspective" without any hesitation or fear. 😁

Senator Lee posts a cozy Norwegian harbor shot and a chart about a small wealth tax hike that aimed at $146M and coincided with $54B in asset flight, then declares this is why “Marxism never works.” Context: Norway is one of the richest, most equal, most mobile countries on earth. High life expectancy, low poverty, universal health care, tuition free colleges, strong unions, thriving private sector. The wealth tax in question hits net worth over roughly $1.7M at about 1 percent. Some very rich people moved themselves or their paper. That is not the Soviet Union collapsing. It is a mixed economy tweaking its knobs while still outperforming us on almost every human development metric. The story here is not that social democracy failed. It is that even in a fjord full of Teslas, the ultra wealthy still hate being asked to chip in slightly more for a system that clearly works.

@HenryWilliams74 @litcapital Haha no no, it’s not Musk I feel for. If you extrapolate out a tax on unrealized gains, it will fully unwind a capitalist economy. It’s the rest of the shareholders that would suffer greatly.
