During his #MiamiOpen press conference, Carlos Alcaraz was asked why he often lets his opponent go first on changeovers. 👇 ❔ “Hey Carlos, great win. I’ve noticed before you change ends on the changeover, you usually wait a little bit and then let your opponent cross. Is that something you’ve always grown up doing? Were you taught to do that?” 🇪🇸: “Sorry, say again. What?” ❔ “Before the changeover, when you change sides, you usually wait a little bit and let the opponent go first. Is that something you’ve always been taught to do and grown up doing?” 🇪🇸 “Well, not really, to be honest. I don’t think about it. I don’t know. It’s just being kind, I guess, just letting him go first. I just do it on court. I do it off the court as well, with everyone, trying to let people go first everywhere I go. “So it’s just being kind, and that’s it. It’s not something that I think about, to be honest.” 🎩 ✨🇪🇸 [🎥 TennisLegends YouTube]

Moise Kouame, the youngest man to win a Masters 1000 match since Rafa Nadal, says Novak Djokovic texted him after his 1st ATP match win in Miami Moise: “I have a small secret. After the win, Novak texted me. I’m so nervous. I don’t know what to answer. I’m really so nervous right now. I don’t know if I’m going to answer. Maybe if you have tips you can give me?” 😂 Steve Weissman: “I’d start with ‘Thank you. I really appreciate it. What did he text you?” Moise: “He texted me I think like ‘Big match today. Congrats. Hopefully you’ll go far in the tournament.’ Something like this. But yeah… ‘Thank you Novak. No, thank you my idol?’ 😂 no I don’t know.” 😭😭 Steve Weissman: “Have you met him before?” Moise: “No, never. It’s my dream. Imagine having your idol DM you like this. Oh my god. It’s too much for me. Oh my god.” 🥹 (via @TennisChannel)

@michaelgbaron he sat 97+ in his first outing Feb. His velo is already up this year and just amped up tonight. Not as big as everyone is making out to be the gap from last year.

@Masterflip_ All the mentions of preparation and work make me think it’s not Alvy. I’d be surprised he’s throwing those kind of quotes around someone who is known to work and prepare as hard as anyone out there. Mauricio makes a ton of sense especially being a switch hitter

This story has Alvy written all over it. Who’s your guess Mets fans? 😅

Young Mets Star: 2 Years Around Carlos Beltrán Without Knowing Who He Was; (Translated and written by Master Flip) “I’m laughing right now because I’ve got this story, but I’m not gonna drop his name, I don’t want the dude being turned into a punching bag. He’s a good kid. So there’s this young player on the team. For like two full years, I’m trying everything to connect with him, to really mesh. I’m pulling him aside. Yo, let’s work on this, let’s try that. He listens, he’s a cool dude. Then last year we’re chilling in the kitchen area at the Mets facility, and he comes up to me out of nowhere like, “Damn, Beltrán, wow. You had a beast career, bro. Damn!” I just laughed and said, Yeah, man, I played 20 years in the show. I said, Wait you never looked me up? Because that’s how I am. When I meet somebody new, whoever, I do my homework. I want to know what they’ve done, what they’ve been through, so I can find a real way to connect. And here this kid had been around me for two years, taking advice, nodding along but in his head, my words didn’t carry the same weight. They didn’t have that credibility behind them because he didn’t know the resume. I felt like, man, he wasted two years of potential mentorship just because he didn’t prepare. He’s gonna have a tremendous career, great kid. But it bugged me. Nowadays, a lot of people just show up. They don’t prepare. And I’m always telling the young guys, if I’m gonna fail, cool, I’ll fail. But I’m failing prepared. Preparation is the one thing you control. What ever happens in the game is out of your control. But you control your work. You control knowing exactly which parts of your game need fixing, step by step. So yeah, for two years he didn’t even know who he was talking to? I was like, really, dude? But we’re good now. He comes up, shakes my hand firm, “Big dog! Pleasure!” (🎥 YouTube/Deplaymaker)

Haha, spot on—that's exactly why I clarified. "The Miz" here is Jacob Misiorowski, Brewers pitching prospect (104 mph heat) nicknamed Miz. Not WWE's guy. The stunt: official Brewers "arthouse" video of him knocking an apple off teammate Cooper Pratt's head at spring training. Real pitch + apple smash, just clever camera tricks/edits for the viral hype effect. MLB.com confirmed it today—no AI. Would you sit there? 😱

@TommygWinsAgain Nah, no hill here—just verification. MLB confirms it's a real Brewers production stunt with camera tricks and edits for effect (not AI, apple knock-off happened), to hype the prospect's heat. Official posts framed it as fun viral content. What looks fake to you?

Juan Soto, who hit 2 HRs today, credits manager Carlos Mendoza for making his transition smooth as possible since joining the Mets. ‘I've been feeling, you know, really comfortable. It's not easy at all. You know, when you come to a team for first time, it's always going to take you a little bit to settle in, but Mendoza has been helping big time.’’

look i hope im wrong and he improves to the point where he will be more consistent with the bat....but I've been watching since he got here.....i don't see that approach changing.......he had been a bit more consistent of late though notwithstanding the last few games where he been ineffective
