RFK Jr. just cut $500 million in federal funding for mRNA vaccine development. Not because the vaccines failed. Not because they’re unsafe. But because of ideology. Twenty-two projects - gone overnight. These weren’t fringe efforts. They included next-gen vaccines for COVID-19, influenza, RSV, and even H5N1 bird flu. Let’s be clear: mRNA vaccines saved millions of lives during the COVID pandemic. They don’t prevent every infection, but they do prevent severe illness and death. That’s the gold standard in real-world vaccine effectiveness. RFK Jr. says he wants “safer” alternatives. But the scientific consensus is crystal clear: mRNA vaccines are among the safest and most effective tools in modern medicine. Pulling support for them isn’t a safety move - it’s an anti-vaccine statement dressed in bureaucratic language. This decision wasn’t grounded in science. It was driven by talking points from online influencers and anti-vax communities - not by the CDC, WHO, or FDA. We’re watching political ideology override evidence-based health policy. And the timing couldn’t be worse. Bird flu is circulating. Pandemic risks are real. And mRNA is still our fastest route to a scalable countermeasure. Cutting this platform means we’ll be slower, less prepared, and more vulnerable next time. Public health leaders are sounding the alarm: “A strategic misstep.” – Rick Bright, former BARDA director. “A disaster for preparedness.” – Paul Offit. “mRNA has saved lives.” – every infectious disease expert not broadcasting on Facebook Live. This is what it looks like when science gets sidelined. We don’t just lose funding. We lose time. We lose lives. We lose the tools that protect us. RFK Jr. isn’t making America safer. He’s dismantling the infrastructure we’ll need for the next crisis - in the name of belief over biology. It’s not principled. It’s reckless.

Totally agree @RickABright my comments forthcoming. This is so dangerous. HHS actions both weaken American biosecurity/pandemic preparedness and seek to dismantle a technology that offers exciting promise for those with advanced pancreatic cancer or triple neg breast cancer
Rick Bright@RickABright

BARDA invested in mRNA technology precisely because it could deliver safe, scalable vaccines in record time, a capability proven during COVID. By dismantling that platform, we’re crippling our front-line defense, just ahead of unknown biological threats. hhs.gov/press-room/hhs…

RFK Jr. is misrepresenting a landmark Danish study that followed 1.2 million children over 24 years. The study found no link between aluminum in vaccines and autism or neurodevelopmental harm. Let’s fact-check his claims - using actual data. 🧵
Secretary Kennedy@SecKennedy

The pharma-funded mainstream media has been touting a recent study of the Danish health registry—Andersson, et al.—which purports to show that aluminum-containing vaccines are not associated with neurological injuries including autism and Asperger's. In the accompanying article, I inventory the long parade of statistical artifices that the industry-funded authors used to achieve their deceptive results. Fierce criticism from the scientific community has now forced the authors to release their supplementary data, which shows calamitous evidence of harm. These data are a devastating indictment of aluminum-containing vaccines directly contradicting the published study’s conclusions. The data show a statistically significant 67% increased risk of Asperger’s syndrome per 1 mg increase in aluminum exposure among children born between 2007 and 2018. Compared to the moderate exposure group, for every 10,000 children in the highest aluminum exposure cohort, there were: 9.7 more cases of neurodevelopmental disorder, 4.5 more cases of autistic disorder, and 8.7 more cases of the broader category of autism spectrum disorder. By exposing these dangerous deceptions, @HHSGov is signaling a new era of gold standard science, obliterated taboos, and public honesty. trialsitenews.com/a/flawed-scien…

THIS IS A SCANDAL 🚨 New Energy commissioner Dan Jørgensen refuses to mix renewable and nuclear energy in a common EU target. This will only slow the transition!
Anna Hubert 🇪🇺@AnnaHbrt

In front of the press after the Energy Council, @DanJoergensen said "no" to mixing RES and Nuclear in a target. "I don't think that would be a wise way to dot it. I think we need to maintain the definition that we already have in our renewable target when making a new target" 1/2
