I think it’s worth reminding people that swing state elections are won in the middle, not the fringe. It’s why Abdul trails Mike Rogers in a general and why Stevens leads.

Si Venezuela le hubiera plantado cara a Estados Unidos, tal vez el mundo estaría viviendo una historia muy distinta a la que vivimos hoy. Quizás, si Venezuela hubiera resistido sin titubeos, no habría estallado después el conflicto entre Irán y Estados Unidos. Soy de las que piensa que cuando una nación se planta, por pequeña o vulnerable que parezca ante el poder, obliga al imperio a medir sus pasos antes de arremeter contra un adversario que podría resultarle mucho más costoso. Tal vez aquel misil jamás habría caído sobre una escuela iraní. Tal vez Estados Unidos no estaría hoy asfixiando genocidamente a mi pueblo, ni asistiríamos a este nuevo macartismo, esta cacería de brujas reeditada, esta persecución sistemática contra quienes simplemente incomodan al Imperio. Lo ocurrido aquel tres de enero fue un precedente que Washington supo capitalizar, porque se lo permitieron, porque sintió la impunidad de actuar sin consecuencias. Y actuó. Si Venezuela hubiera resistido, es probable que también hubiéramos perdido a nuestros héroes, pero no habría sido en vano, como me temo que sí lo fue. Y ahora, al ver esta imágenes, no logro contener un desprecio profundo. Yo no deseo que el mundo llegue a sentir por mi país lo mismo que hoy siento al verlas. No quiero que nos recuerden como el pueblo que se rindió sin luchar. Por eso toca vencer. Toca luchar. No hay otra opción posible. Para no cargar jamás con la humillación de haber sido cobardes.

Abdul, we were both on the ballot in 2018. I was capable of winning my competitive primary and general election. You lost. You lost by over twenty points to Gretchen Whitmer and you will lose to Mike Rogers by talking like this. Everyone in America understands you want to blame all of your problems on Jewish Americans. But buddy, let me be very clear, I will lower the costs of groceries, ban stock trading for elected officials, stop Trump's abuses of power, and protect Michigan manufacturing. And you’ll just be a celebrity whining and writing books to get even richer. You’re part of the complainer class, looking for their next book or podcast deal. Bro, I just want to work for Michigan.
