I’m done with the editing of my book. Now back to the video recording grind. I do have another book plan, namely compiling my notes that I prepared for the Ubi Petrus debate (90% of which did not get into the record) into a small 75 page book. In any case, I think my kids and friends are sick of the Beethoven look around the house. I can’t imagine what my YouTube and Patreon viewers would think. Off to the barber

@TheOrthoEnsign In confession our justification is renewed through Christ's justice, not our works. This would be worse than the idea that we ourselves must satisfy for the temporal penalties of sin.

Modernist priests Damick and De Young claim that Christ didn't pay for our sins, since we are forgiven through confession... but then they claim that we aren't actually forgiven in confession—rather we "achieve" forgiveness by our work (possibly for years) AFTER confession.

Shaiel Ben-Ephraim@academic_la

I talked to two Israeli sources on why Iranian launches continue to increase, despite US-Israeli claims that they have destroyed almost all of the launchers. Here is what they said: 1) The 90–95% drop in volume claimed by CENTCOM earlier in the month was probably a temporary lull as Iran repositioned its remaining launchers into hardened sites. Independent satellite analysis suggests that a significant portion of the "80% destruction" claimed by the IDF actually hit high-fidelity decoys. 2) Despite fewer launchers, the lethality per strike has increased. Iran's shift to cluster warheads has allowed a single missile to impact multiple locations simultaneously, compensating for the lower volume of launches 3) Iran has successfully set up mobile, underground units able to fire at steady rates. Iran used that quiet period to move their remaining ~100-120 heavy launchers into "Super-Hardened" facilities 4) Iran is utilizing its Zolfaqar and Dezful road-mobile launchers. These units move from hardened tunnels to pre-surveyed launch spots, fire, and return underground in under 10 minutes, often before coalition drones can re-task for a strike. 5) Because these launching units are decentralized, it is very hard for US and Israeli intelligence to get info on them. Israel and the United States do not have an answer to this problem. That is why they are trying escalation on energy sources instead. But that is backfiring.

Just gonna start blocking Orthodox dudes trying to make our theology Reformed. Some call them “Latinizers,” but that’s a stain on Catholic theology. The quote mining is so tiresome.

youtube.com/live/XNvaM9m3T… Non of the PSA proponents have even bothered watching this, or the PSA stream with Fr Stephen, and yet they will rant and rave and spam-post badly translated quote-mine images. That is really the best they can do. They are incapable of doing the work Craig or Father Stephen did in as much detail, because the facts of Orthodox history and theology are not on their side.

I want to publicly state my full support for @ruckusofantioch in the face of this vile persecution, defamation, lies, and the countless attempts at destroying his reputation. What we are witnessing is not an isolated case nor something new, but a pattern, a modus operandi, of a certain online “Orthobro” crowd that has made harassment, mob behavior, and character assassination their standard response to anyone who dares to disagree with them or their favorite internet personalities. These are people who seem far more invested in cultivating an online presence than in actually living as good Orthodox Christians. I have, in the past, also called out others, that are wrongly label as “latinizers” (a term that is both inaccurate and reductionist), when I believed they went too far. I always try to be fair and consistent in my approach. But at this point, it is impossible to ignore how toxic, aggressive, and spiritually empty much of the “Orthobro” online culture has become. Many others have already spoken about this, and I will not elaborate further after this post. But it needs to be said clearly: this behavior is shameful. Especially now, during Lent, a time that should be of repentance, humility, and self-examination. If there is any honesty left, any conscience not entirely numbed, then the proper response is not doubling down, but repentance. Confession. Silence. Withdrawal. Any serious priest would likely counsel stepping back, reflecting deeply, and refraining from partaking in Communion for a time until true repentance is made. What they are doing isn't zeal. This is not a defense of the faith. This is pride, anger, and spiritual decay disguised as righteousness. Christ, who is our Lord and Savior, who took our sins and died for our salvation, may guide and bless us through this period. I will now return to my exile from this shithole of a social media platform, so don’t bother screaming or arguing in the comments. I won’t see them.

Since @OrthodoxWario wants to dox me, I think it’s fair we ask the OCA Metropolitan, and the Bishop of Denver about what the OCA tolerates concerning their parishioners. An exposition of the apostate Wario will featured in this 🧵 ⬇️

Yawn. NONE of this yap actually explains away the fact that he (& St. Damascene the Studite!) believed that we were guilty of original sin.
ergelgru@ergelgru

@Nicholai_Korea you can add this to your library of dumb out of context proof-texts from these people For those who can't read - the Patriarch is clearly using his response to explain our understanding and methods of baptism and christmation, which they know the writers from Augsburg do not follow. (this is their first set of correspondance, the Patriarch is trying to be consolational, but make the points of error clear, especially the ones he continually revisits - trinitarian doctrine, ecclesiology, the sacraments and their ministration) Its also not clear if there is anything obviously "wrong" with Article II of Augsburg for them to respond to, its only 2 sentences long and quite general And this the problem - it takes actual labor and reading to refute these stupid memes, thus the deception and twisting of doctrine spreads. Honestly Im not even sure what point was being made here by posting this one?

‘Because of the sinful fall of Adam and Eve, the whole cosmos was subjected to corruption, and death entered into the world. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into this world, and by sin death, so also death passed upon all men through him...” (Rom. 5:12). Even the holy and righteous men of the Old Testament could not enter Paradise after death, because, being burdened with the ancestral sin received by inheritance, they were unfit for the bosom of God. Thus, for all, the gate of the Kingdom was shut. The Justice of the Lord and the very Law inherent in things demanded that the ransom answering to this sin should again be accomplished by Man himself; but since among men—and, in general, among all creatures—there was no such one, nor could there be, the whole creation groaned, while Hell and death exulted. And lo, there was accomplished the ineffable mystery, inconceivable and inaccessible to our mind: the second Hypostasis of the All-Holy Trinity—the Son of God—took upon Himself human flesh and was made manifest to the world in the manger at Bethlehem, in order that He Himself, being sinless, might take upon Himself our sins, conquer the evil powers, and once more bestow upon us eternal blessedness. “The Word became incarnate, that we might be deified.”’ –bl. Patriarch Ilia II, Paschal Epistle (2012)

‘..“My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” Why did our Lord say these words? The Fathers explain that God, in Justice, ought to have punished all people by His abandonment of them, and that Adam & Eve in particular ought, in strict Justice, to have been punished by this abandonment. They did something that radically contradicts the state of communion with God; what radically contradicts communion with God is being forsaken by God. Adam and Eve deserved to be abandoned by God, but out of His love for His creatures, God does not abandon His creation. Nevertheless, Christ, as the New Adam, had to experience what, by the law of Justice, the Old Adam ought to have experienced—this absolute and complete abandonment by God. Only one human being, Jesus Christ, experienced this fully, on the Cross. None of us, not even the greatest sinner, is in a state of complete abandonment by God, nor feels it in full measure. Only Jesus Christ took upon Himself the very experience which Adam & the whole human race ought to have undergone: abandonment by God in all its terrible manifestations. Thus Jesus Christ redeemed not only the consequences of sin but also all those punishments which Adam and Eve and their descendants ought to have experienced in full measure, but did not.’ –Archbishop Sylvester Stoychev, Dogmatic Theology Lecture 15, “Christ: The Saviour of the World”

OP ultimately presupposes, without any basis in reality at all, that there is an irreconcilable distinction between the saint-in-question’s position on abandonment vs. a universal teaching held by so-called “Western juridist” boogeymen. Furthermore, there are Russian saints & bishops, as well as MP priests to this day, that say that the Father’s wrath was poured out on the Son, that the Son was punished instead of us etc. etc. Cute attempt though.

Segue o fio.
