Somatic healing finally started at The Sameer Project and we are very excited! Support our somatic sessions: chuffed.org/project/113327… The incredible Ibrahim did five group session with different boys in our camps, and 17 individual sessions. The key method used for the individual sessions was the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) that is a mind-body approach within somatic practices and contemporary energy psychology that works with the nervous system through mainly tapping on specific points on the body while focusing on emotional experiences, to reduce stress and support emotional regulation. For the group sessions, Ibrahim followed Ashira Darwish’s somatic techniques that are rooted in Islamic cultural background. As you can see in the video, the techniques used are not divorced from the cultural and religious roots in Gaza. During the somatic movements, the children repeat la ilaha ela Allah, meaning there is only one God. Additionally, Ibrahim uses the dehiyeh dance to help the boys release. Dehiyah is a traditional, celebratory Bedouin line dance often performed at weddings and festive occasions, characterized by rhythmic clapping, chanting, and a line formation. With the synchronized movement and clapping, you can see the joy in the boys faces. Many other techniques were used like sufi whirling, breathing and stillness. Ibrahim is trained in Somatics and EFT, and is supervised by Ashira Darwish and Iman Boundaoui. The Sameer Project will work closely with Ibrahim to develop his skill set and train others so that more Palestinians in Gaza can heal through movement. “Without essential equipment, we can’t save patients” 🚨Dr. Fadil Naim links Gaza’s collapsing healthcare system to the urgent mission of the Sumud Fleet Gaza’s healthcare system is on the brink of total collapse. Dr. Fadil Naim @fnaim65 , Director of Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, alongside Dr. Ali Alghaliz from Al-Shifa Hospital, warns that basic diagnostic and treatment tools are no longer functional. Critical devices like MRI are unavailable, making life-saving surgeries in severe trauma cases extremely risky and increasing the likelihood of death or permanent disability. From 38 fully equipped hospitals before the war, only around 10 remain operational today, all with severely limited capacity and resources. The crisis extends beyond emergency care. Patients with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes are being deprived of essential treatment. More than 400 kidney failure patients have already died due to the disruption of dialysis services. In this context, the Sumud Fleet is not just aid, it is a lifeline. By delivering urgently needed medical supplies and healthcare personnel, it offers a chance to restore some capacity and support overwhelmed medical teams on the ground. This is a human rights and medical ethics emergency. The international community must act now: support the Sumud Fleet @gbsumudflotilla , lift the blockade, and help save lives.

⚡️NEW: A document obtained by The Times of Israel shows the US-led “Board of Peace” told Gaza technocratic committee officials that Israel would no longer be expected to uphold key ceasefire commitments if Hamas refuses the proposed disarmament framework. The letter, signed by former UN envoy Nickolay Mladenov and senior US official Aryeh Lightstone, and sent during the week of April 5 to Ali Shaath, the commissioner of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), the technocratic body meant to replace Hamas in governing Gaza, states Israel’s obligations to halt attacks, allow large-scale aid entry, reopen Rafah Crossing, and withdraw forces to the agreed “Yellow Line” would become “null and void” if Hamas does not accept terms on handing over its weapons. “Failure by Hamas to accept the framework within a reasonable timeframe, as determined by the Board of Peace and after consultation with the parties, shall render such commitments null and void,” the letter says. The document also appears to acknowledge Israel had not fully implemented parts of the October 2025 ceasefire, going through eight key provisions in a humanitarian annex tied to the agreement, including: ➤ Suspending “all military operations,” including airstrikes and artillery attacks ➤ Allowing 4,200 humanitarian aid trucks into Gaza each week ➤ Fully reopening the Rafah Crossing ➤ Withdrawing Israeli forces back to the agreed “Yellow Line” ➤ Allowing shelter materials and medical supplies into Gaza ➤ Repairing critical infrastructure in the Strip Hamas has consistently held that discussions about weapons cannot proceed until Israel fulfills requirements of phase one of the agreement.
