What was your key takeaway in the #MaputoProtocol input gathering session? Video description: The video shows a lady standing in front of a United Disabled Persons of Kenya banner. She is putting on a blue jacket. @karen_muriuki

Poverty, rurality, & disability should not be a death sentence. Access to safe abortion is a matter of public health, gender justice, and economic justice. #leavenoonebehind

Women and girls with disabilities face intersecting discrimination across many sectors, including the justice system, schools, hospitals, employment, transport systems, and social media. To address this systemic challenge, the United Disabled Persons of Kenya (UDPK) and the Kenya Network of Women and Girls with Disabilities (@Kwwdnetwork ) convened women and girls with disabilities in Kenya to collect their views and experiences. This meeting was a direct response to the global call by the OHCHR and the #CRPD Committee to shape guidelines on intersectional discrimination. The collective voices and experiences of women and girls with disabilities are vital in guiding inclusive policies that both protect their rights and promote their leadership. #AccessToJustice #intersection

Our project directly tackles the intersection of: 👉🏾Disproportionate impact of climate change on women, girls with disabilities. 👉🏾The exclusion of gender-diverse persons, girls, and young women with disabilities from environmental spaces. 👉🏾The power of inclusive solutions.

In commemoration of #mazingiraday! At @WomenSpaces, we believe climate action is incomplete without gender equality. That's why today, gender-diverse persons, girls & young women with disabilities are leading our tree-planting initiative. #herseedourfuture

Climate action is for everyone. Today at Port Reitz School, we sensitized girls with disabilities on climate change and empowered them as green champions. Their voices and their hands are vital in the fight for our planet. #womenpacesafrica #climateaction #genderequality

💙 SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities: Centering girls with disabilities ensures no one is left behind. ✊🏾 SDG 5: Gender Equality: Empowering girls and women as environmental leaders. This is what inclusive climate justice looks like! #inclusiveclimateaction #kenya

Seeing is believing! 🌱 Our girls with disabilities at Port Reitz School, Mombasa, are not just learning about climate change—they are taking action. By planting trees, they are growing a greener, more inclusive future for us all. #climateresilience #disabilityinclusion
