Thousands of cyclists, e-bike and e-scooter riders are breaking the rules and yet no one is being held accountable. The law simply hasn’t kept pace. If we want safer roads, we need proper regulation, identification and enforcement. Please read my views in this article. #cycling

“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace…” In 60 years’ reporting, I’ve never seen a message like Trump’s to Norway’s PM. We’ve left the realm of diplomacy for somewhere far more disturbing.

Sailing in shallows means it’s likely that sooner or later you’ll go aground – but if you’ve planned for the eventuality in advance the chances are you’ll either avoid it… pbo.co.uk/seamanship/tec…

@MagicCity37 @Morganholmoore @elonmusk The UK most definitely Brexited. A hard Brexit leaving the customs union and the single market; we've pretty much lost all the benefits of membership and suffered economically.

In 2006 there were 167,000 NHS England hospital beds Now there are 130,000 In 2006 there were 33,000 GPs Now there are 28,000 But sure, the problem is the “NHS model”, and sure, Reform’s insurance based model will sort it. Ps. I have some magic beans for sale

@TheBritLad You can't phone them up and book a ride! The RNLI responds to distress calls which are normally coordinated by the coastguard. They respond to all distress calls, and certainly don't decide who to respond to based on political pressures.

🚨 BREAKING: Thousands of British citizens flooded social media this weekend, declaring they WILL NOT donate to the RNLI. The backlash erupted after leaflets asking for donations to “save lives at the sea” were distributed across the nation last week. Will you be donating?

@niccruzpatane @Tesla How come you people never count the time you have to wait for it to charge and the cost of changing to electric? You will never offset these costs!

Each one of our @Tesla’s costs only $0.02/kWh to charge. A full charge for each is only $1.64. These three performance cars cost next to nothing to run.

Labour will now directly tax you from your bank accounts Every saver will be forced to give their National Insurance number to their bank under new rules approved by Rachel Reeves, making it easier for HMRC to tax your savings We’re taxed time & again on the money we earn & now she wants to tax our savings too Labour will go to any lengths to squeeze more money to fuel their relentless spending binge How is she still the chancellor?

@UKGastroDr @wesstreeting Step 1. Gather 5/6 doctors in an area short of GPs. Open a new GP practice. Step 2. Make sure there are plenty of appointments available. Step 3. Work hard, don't expect life to be easy.

Today, I had to advise an ex-trainee to look for work abroad. They have applied for several training posts & have not even been shortlisted. UK trained, great references, great work ethic, locum work drying up. Heartbreaking 💔 How do we solve this issue @wesstreeting ?

I typically do not use the term “change management” (unless I’m working with a partner who wants or needs to use it). “Managing” change implies order, planning & stability; the ability to forecast, direct & deliver outcomes. Yet very few change or transformation plans deliver what they set out to deliver, in the predicted timescales. We no longer operate in a stable world where we undertake a change project and move back to equilibrium. Our environment moves faster, acts in more interconnected ways & is full of ambiguity. Change is relentless & continuous. We need to focus on building adaptive capacity & creating a collective process, not on "managing" change as a discrete, manageable task. Michael Hudson talks about shifting from “change management” to “change fitness”. He sets out three core leadership practices for enabling change: 1. Continuous sensemaking: This involves incorporating five minutes of sensemaking into existing team routines, understanding what is different or changing. Over time, this practice builds "complexity capacity" & the ability to hold onto multiple, often contradictory realities without becoming overwhelmed. 2. Strategic energy management: Treating people’s energy as a finite resource that needs to be deliberately managed, like any other resource. 3. Learning from navigation, not just success: Shifting from an outcome-focus to process-focus builds the ability to prevail in situations where the path forward is unclear. forbes.com/sites/michaelh… Via @Forbes. @FreeP4le5tine @DWokeMo @Jenny_1884 If you inherit a house it is by definition not your primary residence. If you inherit assets that were purchased for say £100k that are now worth £1m you only pay capital gains on any increase over the £1m when you sell not on the increase above £100k.

@DWokeMo @Jenny_1884 Then, that should be subject to relevant tax, such as capital gains tax. If it was your only property and you sold it while alive, you wouldn't pay any CGT. So why pay it when you're dead?

What I don’t get with Inheritance Tax is that you’ve already paid tax on what you’ve earned over the years so why when you die the person who receives that money has to then pay tax on it again? Why? This doesn’t seem right or fair.
