Mumbai deputy mayor and Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena corporator Sanjay Ghadi has written to municipal commissioner seeking allotment of a vacant civic bungalow inside the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan premises in Byculla, citing the long commute from his residence in Dahisar and the need to attend official meetings on time. In a letter addressed to the commissioner, Ghadi said his daily travel between Dahisar (East) and the BMC headquarters at South Mumbai consumes considerable time and is frequently delayed by traffic congestion. He said the commute causes “mental and physical distress” and affects his ability to reach the civic headquarters on time for administrative meetings, seminars, public interactions and other official programmes.

1-7 July was a week I'll remember for a long time. By profession.. I'm an Advocate who specialises in Real Estate. Weather has always been my passion. But this week both worlds peaked at the same time. Friday & Saturday were brutal. I had slept for just 50 minutes in an entire 24 hour period, didn't get one full hour. The rest was office work, deal closures, radar monitoring, media calls, forecasts and nonstop updates to family, clients, relatives, friends & on Twitter. Tried catching up on 4-5 hours of sleep the next day after barely sleeping the previous night. Woke up to missed calls and instantly wished I'd been awake to track the situation. Alarms at 1:30 AM, 3:30 AM and 5:30 AM became routine. I woke up on purpose because it's July anything can happen to Mumbai overnight. There was no schedule. Only responsibility. Many people see the forecasts. Very few see what happens behind them. Every monsoon teaches something. This one taught me how much responsibility comes with people's trust. I don't forecast because it's my profession. I do it because when Mumbai comes to a standstill, someone has to stay awake, track the weather and keep people informed throughout the night. Back to being a lawyer every morning. Back to being a weatherman every night. No complaints. Just responsibility. Thank you to everyone who trusted the updates over the last week.

I’m not scared of anyone. I clearly said politicians across party lines in Maharashtra are corrupt which has created other problems potholes, gobbling up open spaces etc. Anyone who disagree with this is either biased or living under cave. But fact is BMC handling of extreme rain events has improved last few years even before BJP came into power.

प्रति श्री. देवेंद्र फडणवीस, भारतीय जनता पक्षाच्या केंद्रातील लोकांना सत्तेचा माज आला आहे, हे पूर्व , पश्चिम , उत्तर , दक्षिण भारतातील लोकं सर्रास बोलत आहेत. केंद्रातील लोकं वाट्टेल तसे वागत आहेत याचा राग लोकांच्या मनात होता आणि आहेच. पण हा संसर्ग आता आपल्या राज्यापर्यंत पसरला आहे ? आणि तुम्ही तो पसरू देताय? देशातील इतर राज्यातील राजकारण आणि महाराष्ट्रातील राजकारण यात जमीन अस्मानाचा फरक होता. महाराष्ट्रच्या राजकीय नेत्यांच्या विचारांचं आणि उमदेपणाचं एक कौतुक आणि कुतूहल साऱ्या देशात होतं ! पण गेल्या काही वर्षांत आपण आपली बरोबरी उत्तरेकडील काही मागास विचारांच्या राज्यांबरोबर करायला लागलोय हे आता स्पष्टपणे जाणवत आहे ! तुमचा एक आमदार आणि पदाधिकरी लोकांच्या मृत्यूवर फिदीफिदी हसतो आणि त्यावर कारवाईचा एकही आसूड ओढला जात नाहीये. एक फार प्रसिद्ध वाक्य आहे जे तुम्ही पण कधी ऐकलं असेल, 'Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely' पण या वाक्याचा अर्थ उद्या समजून सांगायची वेळ आली तर सध्याचे भारतीय जनता पक्षाचे तुमचे सहकारी हे आदर्श उदाहरण ठरतील अशी परिस्थिती आहे. कोणाला कशाचाच खेद नाही, खंत नाही, अशी परिस्थिती आहे. आणि या सगळ्यात तुम्ही एकही अवाक्षर बोलत नाही यामुळे सगळे बेफाम झाले आहेत. देवेंद्र फडणवीस हे सुसंस्कृत मुख्यमंत्री आहेत, संवेदनशील आहेत असं महाराष्ट्राला वाटत होतं, आणि मलाही वाटत होतं. पण हे असले प्रकार जेंव्हा होतात आणि त्यावर जेंव्हा काहीही खेद तुमच्या कडून व्यक्त केला जात नाही, तेंव्हा मात्र तुमच्या संवेनशीलतेबद्दलच शंका घ्यावी लागते. मी गेली ३७ वर्ष राजकारणात सक्रिय आहे. या काळात महाराष्ट्रात एखाद्या नेत्याकडून प्रमाद घडला, चूक झाली तर तो स्वपक्षाचा आहे म्हणून त्याच्या चुकांवर त्यावेळच्या राज्यातील नेत्यांनी कधी पांघरूण घातलंय असं झालं नाही. बाळासाहेब असोत, पवार साहेब असोत की प्रमोदजी असोत किंवा कोणीही असोत, म्हणून महाराष्ट्राचं राजकारण वेगळं आहे अशी देशभर प्रतिमा होती. आज तुम्ही हा आपला आहे ना मग त्यांनी काहीही केलं तरी घाल त्याला पाठीशी सुरु केलं आहेत. याने तुम्ही तुमची आणि महाराष्ट्राची प्रतिमा डागाळत आहात असं वाटत नाहीये का ? तुमचे मंत्री रोज बेताल विधानं करत आहेत, त्याबद्दल तुम्ही काही बोलत नाही. तुमचे इतर नेते असंवेदनशीलता उघडपणे दाखवतात त्यांना तुम्ही काही बोलत नाही . ( बोलला असता तर परत त्यांची तीच चूक करायची हिम्मत झाली नसती पण ते तसेच वागत आहेत यावरून समजतंय की तुम्ही त्यांना काहीच समज देत नाही आहात) तुमच्या मौनाचं नेमकं कारण काय आहे? तुमच्याकडून म्हणण्यापेक्षा या महाराष्ट्राच्या मुख्यमंत्र्यांकडून काही संकेतांची अपेक्षा कायम असते. मग तो कुठल्या का पक्षाचा का असेना. त्याचा अपेक्षाभंग करू नका. अन्यथा देवेंद्र फडणवीस हा माणूस फक्त स्वकीयांच्या चुकांना पाठीशी घालणारा भाऊ इतकीच तुमची प्रतिमा राहील आणि यांत सगळ्यात महत्वाचं म्हणजे महाराष्ट्राच्या राजकारणात चुकीचे पायंडे पडतील. खरंतर असं बेफाम वागणाऱ्यांकडून तुम्ही राजीनामे घ्यायला हवेत. पण तुम्ही ते का करत नाही आहात माहित नाही. वेडंवाकडं वागणाऱ्यांना फडणवीस जबर शासन करतात हे एकदा दाखवून द्या म्हणजे सगळेच सुतासारखे सरळ येतील. तुम्ही सुज्ञ आहात. तुमच्याकडून अपेक्षा आहेत. राज ठाकरे ।
