🔥 Wildfires are burning longer, moving faster, and behaving less predictably than ever. So far this year, over 2.3 million acres have burned nationwide and FEMA has approved 21 Fire Management Assistance Grants (FMAGs). Just this week, we approved two of those grants. 🧵⬇️

FEMA has indefinitely suspended former Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, her brother Edwin Cherfilus and multiple associates & entities after a federal indictment alleging they misappropriated $5.7 million in disaster funds for personal enrichment & illegal campaign contributions.

🚨 Fraud is never acceptable. FEMA disaster funds are for survivors, NOT personal gain. Stealing disaster relief funds is a crime—period. Under @POTUS , @VP and @SecMullinDHS fraud will not be tolerated.
