For years in web3, I watched people who truly believed in projects get sidelined by people who simply knew how to game the system. Bots. Farmers. Mercenary capital. Empty AI slop engagement. The people creating real value deserve better. You should get what you earn. That’s why @NoxAeris and I built @NucleusCodes . Private beta starts today.

It’s crazy how much more fun the space is when you’re just a part of every community lmao And the truth is it’s way more common than people think, the space is still small there’s a TON of overlap between communities Will be looking to join a few more soon…

@SamSteffanina @PlayWildcard Good takes. The streaming platform was the biggest question mark for me… it always seemed those funds could’ve been put to better use for the game

With $55m raised, @PlayWildcard turned into one of the more painful game autopsies in Gamified history. Not because people wanted to pile on, but because this was a real swing by people a lot of us respected. Big funding, long runway, strong credentials, ambition, and still the game fell way short with an all time peak of 125 concurrent players on Steam. @itsGnoc : "I think what happened here was you had a pair of dreamers building a game that was a genre blender. It’s something that nobody had seen before. It’s really difficult to even describe what it is." "Is it a MOBA, is it a card game, is it a Clash Royale, is it League? Nobody really has the answer for that." "Not only are we going to build a game in Web3, but we’re going to build an esport. And not only are we going to build an esport, but we’re going to build the [streaming] platform that supports it." @chrisheatherly : "We saw how fake the 'Web3 community' thing really was because when they launched the game, I barely saw anyone on the timeline talking about it." @JerrySinger : "The version that we played before was a lot better than what people got to play on Steam." "When I played on Steam in this last thing, there was zero player onboarding there, zero tutorial." @MichaelSatoshi : "It’s not a scam. It’s not a rug. It’s a game that just failed, which happens 90% of the time for game developers anyway." Watch the full debate on episode 158 on YouTube. youtu.be/JxgjOUdFm90

Alignment in the IP at its earliest formative stages is alignment in identity and shared values. Is the Pokemon Company in a discord with you sharing their plans and building the IP alongside you? Is Bandai going to license the character that you own and put it in their card game? No. Those are real differentiators you don't get with established web2 IP and they're a function of getting in early on a world that's still being built. Azuki holders also see value in the art itself. The Azuki pfp collection is a blend of art and technology that has resulted in the most complex pfp collection in the world. The art stands on its own. You've been clear you're looking for financial alignment. That's fair, and there are projects experimenting on that front that may be a better fit. Some collectors value what Azuki offers at current prices, others don't. That's how a market gets made. What I can do is be clear about what Azuki is and where we're going.

Zagabond: “the alignment is in the IP” and “it’s simple, if you don’t like the collectibles, don’t buy the collectibles” This is tricky. 🤔 If the alignment is only in the IP, then there’s no real alignment at all. At that point, you’re no different from any Web2 IP. And that becomes a problem, because now I’m comparing you to giants like Pokémon or One Piece, and your NFT prices start to make far less sense. There’s a clear distinction between the NFT superfan model and pure digital collectibles, especially when it comes to justifying premium prices. If you’re an emerging brand, why would I value your ‘pure digital collectibles’ the same as an established brand? Without alignment, we’re back to the same question NFT holders have asked for the last 3 years: why am I holding at these prices? I’d rather sell and buy 10 boxes of Azuki TCGs.😶‍🌫️ And beyond that, you’re giving up a lot of the growth advantages that come from a strong superfan alignment strategy. TLDR I like Azuki, but I’ve reduced my exposure to its “pure digital collectibles” because the current prices don’t make sense to me.
Zagabond@Zagabond

@jbondwagon The alignment is in the IP. If you're looking for financial alignment via equity etc then there are other projects that are experimenting there that may be a better fit for you. That's the beauty of having so many projects to join that are each playing to their strengths

Those excited about the price of NFTs killed off 99% of the space. Those excited about what can be built with NFTs are why the 1% still exist with huge potential. Go back to your mention markets and Logan Paul’s next grift, we’ll be over here building the future of decentralized IP and networking.

Gotta say it… This is a dope fucking hat. But more than that, what it represents has had me shopping for Apes the last few days. The premium feel. The yacht club aesthetic. The members-only exclusivity. This is exactly what drew me to BAYC in the first place. That cohesive, prestige brand identity is what I always felt was the core of what made Apes special, and if I'm being honest it's something that felt like it lost its way for a while. This hat, the new energy from @mfigge, and the community momentum building right now… it all feels like a return to that original vibe. I'll be shopping 🦍

Some news to share: After serving as CEO the past couple years, I’m moving into the role of Chairman of the Board, and @mfigge will become Yuga’s next CEO. Figge is the absolute best person for the job. There’s no one I trust more to lead Yuga through this next chapter. He’s relentless about product quality, he thinks longterm, and he knows how to take a vision and make it real. His work on Otherside the past year is proof of that, and you haven’t seen the half of it. And I’ve loved watching Figge get his hands dirty in the world of BAYC over the last few weeks. The club is better for it. Creative direction, writing, and figuring out insane ideas is still where I do my best work. And with Figge taking over the CEO role, I get to go back to it. I can’t wait for what Yuga builds next.

US military blockade in the Strait of Hormuz officially comes into force. A blockade targeting ships entering or exiting Iranian ports and coastal areas in the Strait of Hormuz has begun, according to the deadline set by President Donald Trump. Any ship trying to reach Iranian facilities in the Arabian Gulf or the Gulf of Oman will be confronted by the US military. It remains unclear exactly how the blockade will be enforced.

The Nelk Boys raised $23,000,000 selling NFTs They minted out 10,000 Metacards in 10 minutes at $2,300 each in 2022 Today, they're down 98%, selling for $50 I bring this up as Jamari (1.4m subs) just dropped a 30 minute video that hit 100k views in the first 5 hours He covers the NFT launch and many utilities that were promised, including Full Send lounges, casinos, hotels, gyms, a supplements brand, access to private events and more They even said that these utilities will "drive up the price of the Metacard" and "it's kind of like they're [buyers] investing and getting a return" Why do NFTs only get mainstream attention when it's negative 😭
