Several Colorado District Attorneys are in Washington this week for the @ndaajustice conference. They got a chance to meet with members of Colorado's Congressional delegation as well as recruit potential new prosecutors coming out of law schools.

This National Human Trafficking Awareness Month, the Sheriff's Office is proud to help host the Jefferson County Human Trafficking Summit today at Foothills Bible Church. Sheriff Marinelli was joined by District Attorney Alexis King of the @FirstDAofCO and @JeffcoHumanSvcs Executive Director Mary Berg to welcome guests to the summit. A full house of 600 public safety professionals and concerned members of the public are learning more about human trafficking and its impact on communities. Speakers from the Sheriff's Office, Human Services, Victim Outreach Incorporated, ALL IN Fostering Futures, UC School of Medicine, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Hillel International Secure Community Network, Ralston House, Arvada Municipal Court, Juvenile Assessment Center, and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are sharing their experience and expertise. In addition, Keynote Speaker Christian Gardner-Wood, Chief Deputy District Attorney with the Boulder County DA's Office, is presenting "The Current Landscape of Human Trafficking in Colorado." Human Trafficking is an important topic for our agency, our victim advocates, our partners, and our community, and we are grateful for the participation in today's event from speakers, partner agencies, and guests.
