@RickySacks The problem for Spurs is that they are no longer a football club. They are a football department - and just one department of many in a bigger entity. Success is now a profit margin and if resources can be redirected to a department with a better margin that’s where they go.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese just appointed one of the most left wing High Court judges in Australia's national history to lead the Royal Commission into the Bondi terrorist attack. I fear this means the Royal Commission will not properly investigate Islamic extremism. Any serious Royal Commission would have to take an honest look at Islamic extremism and Islamic anti-Semitism in this country. I walked down the main street of Lakemba the other day and two Islamic bookstores casually sold books calling for the massacre of Jews in the end times of Islam. I also saw works by extreme anti-Semite Salafi thinker Sayyid Qutb on prominent display. We are kidding ourselves if we think that this type of casual extremism is not a problem. ISIS foreign fighter join rates from South-West Sydney in the mid-2010s were among the highest in the Western world. In some suburbs up to 1 in every 140 young Muslim men of military recruitment age literally joined ISIS as foreign fighters in Syria and Iraq or had their passports cancelled by the government in the course of attempting to leave the country to join ISIS. Any serious Royal Commission has to account for this fact. We need a true reckoning with the extent of Islamic radicalisation in this country.

Technically correct. There's no reason once the ball-up is called to hand it to a teammate, rather than the umpire. It is a form of time wasting. That said, its A very technical interpretation. I would not be paying that. But can't say it's a wrong decision #AFLFreoPies

@petemac62 @hasumpstuffedup Free kicks are penalties against a player. At no point should they be considered as a reward mechanism. The reward for a great tackle is that you stop an opposition player from progressing the football to his team’s advantage.

@apsonline @piersmorgan Maybe, but the big difference is JB marking his crease (signalling that, in his mind, the over was done). My viewpoint on the 'spirit of the game' thing is them not retracting the appeal on the basis that JB had made an incorrect assumption. Delaying the stumping is different.

@StuJ87 @TheSpursWatch I really don’t get the age or length of time to reach the PL argument. It assumes everyone has the same starting point - Australia is a long way from Europe. He was always going to need to spend more time in lesser leagues to get to the same point as European based managers.

@TheSpursWatch Absolutely not. It’d be worse than Nuno. We wanted a young manager, but he’s older than anybody else mentioned. His high is managing in the 17th ranked league in the world (PL is ranked 1st). If he was good enough, it doesn’t take 27 years to get to the PL.
