There's a difference between having control of the price of crude and taking actions that influence the price of crude.
Control means being able to dictate prices. For example, maintaining the price of a gallon of gas despite what is going on in the ME right now.
Influence means starting a war in the ME which results in the price of gasoline spinning out of control.
If as you imply Trump has control over the price of a gallon of gas, why was in $2.72 a gallon three weeks ago but is $3.89 a gallon today?

The cost of a gas in 2022 was influenced by lingering effects of supply issues created by the pandemic, then exasperated by the war in Ukraine.

Words have meaning. Even if it offends some people, we need to call things as they are. The idea that Israel is somehow immune from judgment is itself an application of a double standard. It is anti-semitic to hold Israel to a different standard than other states. And that's what Israeli is: a state. Sometimes, states do really awful things. And to conflate American Jews with the Israeli state is yet another example of anti-semitism, which the AJC seems to be doing here.
