@YeahThatsKosher @SidelockHolmes @samthurgood @izzysbbq The landsman is correct. Spare ribs as we call them in SA are chazir and the continuation of the back ribs. In the U.S. kosher market terms like these are used to reference similar cuts in beef so you will find "kosher beef spare ribs"

@SidelockHolmes @samthurgood I’m not THE expert on cuts of meat but it’s possible there’s a difference between “ribs” and “spare ribs” and whatever kosher butchers call “spare ribs” isn’t that, just like we don’t really have kosher “filet mignon.” Perhaps @izzysbbq or @FleishigsMag can chime in?
