Am I crazy for thinking AC Origins holds up better than every AC game released after it? It feels like the last AC game that was made with pure passion.

Wildlands is a "AAAA" game that has just been cancelled. The news comes after Eidos Montreal announced 124 layoffs yesterday. Here’s more info on this cancelled game: - Wildlands has been in development since 2019 - It was an open-world, third-person action-adventure game - The budget exceeded hundreds of millions; a job listing even claimed it was a AAAA game project - 4 different game engines were used during development; the studio ended up using Unreal Engine 5 - There were internal conflicts on narrative direction - Due to massive losses during development, a Deus Ex game was cancelled in 2024 - Wildlands was almost complete before being cancelled (it was supposed to come out later this year) What are your thoughts on this?

@Arraveriii Actually yes, if I see Euros or British Pounds or any other currency other than USD my mind immediately defaults to "oh this is more expensive" and I usually skip them. I know it seems silly but it's a psychological thing I guess. Conversions are also a bit annoying.

to clients: Do you determine whether you'll commission someone based on their price currency? I use euro because I'm based in europe, but I noticed a lot of people only cm artists whose prices are shown in usd. Is that true or was it just coincidence?

@uwunetes @idoccor Gotta be honest this simply doesn't exist anymore because the sensors are not good enough without some post processing. The whole stack is the camera product software included Halide on iOS gets you as close as you can get to zero processing (if that's what you want)

@RinoTheBouncer Damn that was a good year, A Plague Tale would be my favorite of the bunch but Ghostwire was very enjoyable, Dying Light 2 got good with time, Stray was cute, God of War is your typical nice Sony "movie" loved them all, Horizon was serviceable too

@M3RKMUS1C Ever since MW1 (the original) i haven't bothered with multiplayer like at all, I always wait years for a steam sale to finally get these games only to play their single player campaign, yes people who only play SP still exist lol

My Modern Warfare 2019 hot take is that the Campaign + OST are GOATED People tend to forget that COD singleplayer used to set the tone and identity for the games, and MW2019 has one of the best COD campaigns in recent years imo It's $6 on Steam, play the Campaign at least!
