i know ppl who didn’t realize this til they were 40 and now it’s too late. you will one day be 70 and you will not be sexy or cool by any standard other than “for your age.” young people will be throwing parties and shaping culture and you won’t be invited. this is the cycle of life. many things that are high status when you’re 25 are lame when you’re 70. when people say “grow up” a lot of what they mean is “adopt the values and priorities that will carry you well through later life.”

I remember seeing the movie Into The Wild and thinking he was the biggest dumbass, rich spoiled liberal douche fresh out of (paid for) college thinks he can brave ALASKA (the last frontier) with ZERO survival training or knowledge and everything would be handy dandy? We can debate the legal technicalities - and I and a couple of lawyers made a strong case from the right yesterday. But, no living creature with an mf central nervous system is surprised to learn that you will in practice get arrested if you follow the police around at a one-foot distance for days and - when they start to actively make arrests - get out, jump between them and their targets, and start blowing rape whistles. You can't "direct traffic" either, or drive into their caravans. Imagine trying ANY of this shite with the Chicago PD.

Thursday my partner and I were deep in discussions of letting a team member go. No decision was made. Was more of an “us issue” vs a “them issue” They quit on Friday morning before we got in 😂

This video is now confirmed. Pretti was an activist participating in an organized effort to interfere with ICE enforcement. This was not a peaceful protestor just documenting what was going on. That fact does not mean that the use of lethal force was justified on 1/24. That’s a separate question. It does mean he likely should have been arrested/charged after the below clip on 1/13 and the lack of local police trying to stop this behavior made further incidents and escalations more likely.

It’s important to remember that nothing is actually happening right now. It’s not a big deal. A bunch of people are mad about immigration enforcement and they are putting themselves in harms way, causing conflict, and getting themselves hurt. That’s regrettable. But life is fine, the country is fine. There’s absolutely no reason that this couldn’t go on like this forever, if the protesters refuse to relent. That would be fine. Your life would be fine. My life would be fine. Protesters who interfere with legitimate law-enforcement operations are going to keep getting themselves hurt, but that’s an acceptable outcome we can live with.

The American left has completely adopted Palestinianism - everything is done to provoke law enforcement for a clip to create martyrs. None of these people actually care about this guy beyond how useful his corpse is in the fight against the Orange Man
