OpenSea Wave 6 ends in 20 days. In 20 days, the live event will also happen where they’ll showcase what they’ve been building (OS Mobile launch, perps, predictions) And maybe finally, they’ll announce the TGE date.

I think the game is about to change. X Money is coming and it will integrate tips. There is no tax on tips. And have we clearly defined what tips are? The definition of tip could be any form of money given to someone for good work. I’m proceeding with caution but curious about what this will mean.

After ~1 year of observation, data analysis, and active participation — and being a continuous OG for 5 years — this is how I read OpenSea’s strategy and the $SEA airdrop. In my opinion, this airdrop is not just token distribution. It’s a real user filtering process. Phase 1: onboarding (Voyages) → easy access, system education. Phase 2: Waves → psychological and real commitment barriers. Phase 3: silence → resilience, long-term vision, real belief in the project. They are not pushing heavy marketing or hype because they don’t need massive volumes right now. This phase is intentionally quieter, similar to dynamics seen in airdrops like BIRB, to reward real users rather than airdrop hunters. 👉 Strategy (in my opinion): Remove hunters Strongly reward real believers Create real post-TGE success stories Then comes the real shift. Mass users will come chasing rewards in post-TGE waves, hoping for similar results. And that’s where OpenSea will likely push volume — not now. Because now they need to reward strongly to attract people later. But to reward strongly, they likely need to do it without hunters, rewarding real believers first. After TGE: • More waves will happen • More unlocks / incentives / rewards will come • Volume will likely be pushed after TGE, also fueled by airdrop liquidity Historically, attracting airdrop hunters too early has damaged many reward systems.
