It's crazy to think that about 10 years ago the internet felt gigantic: blogs, forums, hundreds of random sites, communities. Today it feels like we're stuck living on the same three sites, four apps, and AI. The internet got bigger, but somehow it feels smaller.

Anakin’s dialogue isn’t poorly written or poorly delivered. He’s an emotionally stunted, traumatized child soldier raised in an order that taught him to suppress his emotions instead of process them. Se tu boicotti un prodotto è perché vorresti che quell’azienda i cui prodotti boicotti sparisse dalla circolazione. Just throwing it out there that the lane is wiiiiiiiiide open for a tech company to get insanely rich by just replicating the 2010 version of big websites like Google while explicitly stating that they hate AI.

terrible. 20 yrs ago, the internet was full of hobbyist blogs and forums. over time, these have been replaced by paywalled substacks and private discord channels, each a walled garden. google's decision to prioritize AI just makes it less likely ppl will create free, public info

Il cambiamento più grosso della tecnologia non è l’AI. È che stiamo passando dal concetto di proprietà al concetto di accesso temporaneo. Anni fa compravi qualcosa ed era tua. Fine. Una macchina, un CD, una console, una radio.... qualsiasi cosa. Funzionavano finché non si rompevano fisicamente. Oggi compri hardware che dipende da server esterni, licenze, account, update, abbonamenti. Una parte di ciò che hai pagato non è davvero sotto il tuo controllo. E la cosa assurda è che non vale solo per software o streaming. Vale per auto, lampadine, giochi, elettrodomestici, strumenti di lavoro. Abbiamo normalizzato l’idea di pagare migliaia di euro per qualcosa che, in certe condizioni, qualcun altro può modificare, limitare o spegnere da remoto. A me pare questo il cambiamento culturale più grosso degli ultimi vent’anni.... tu cosa ne pensi ?

The production of Christopher Nolan received permission for 15 days of filming in Greece with a budget of 16 million euros. The Greek state gave them 6 million as a subsidy from the money of Greek taxpayers, who were never informed about the cast of the film or the distortion of the most important work in our history. The issue here is not that they received money. We Greeks would gladly have given all 16 million for Nolan to shoot a faithful Odyssey. But it should have been a film that properly represents us Greeks, Hellenism and stays true to the values and writings of Homer. Not so we Greeks could pay for a Black Helen and Clytemnestra, a Batman-like Agamemnon, a trans Achilles or Elpenor (a woman playing a male role), a Black Athena, and a script based on the worst possible "translation" that exists. In short, Nolan disrespected all Greeks, while the Greek people are now officially in the crosshairs of racism and the falsification of their history and culture. Woke Hollywood must die.
