Tomorrow morning at 8am mountain time, 75 parcels covering 33,530 acres in NM and TX will be auctioned off by the New Mexico State BLM office.

The “Dallas discourse” on X these last few days has been fascinating. The vocal “I hate Dallas” brigade appears to consist of three highly disparate groups: (1) Coastal elites who look down on any American city that’s not NY/LA/SF/DC; (2) Rust Belters jealous of the economic opportunity that DFW affords, especially compared to their stagnant hometowns; and (3) fellow Texans passionately jousting in traditional local rivalries (e.g., “Life is too short to live in Dallas” some guy from Fort Worth is contractually obligated to say) seemingly unaware that when non-Texans refer to “Dallas” they are talking about Greater Dallas/the DFW Metroplex (yes, even your beloved Tarrant County), not the oft-misgoverned City of Dallas proper. It’s an unholy alliance of critics united only by their manifest disdain for the prosperous suburban lifestyle that works so well for so many “Dallas” (DFW) families.
