Because of the DHS shutdown and shortage of workers, he is spending more time than ever away from his family working overtime with no pay to keep the Fire Department running. In the wake of Typhoon Sinlaku, @DHSgov and @FEMA continue to support locally led disaster response efforts in Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Together with territorial partners and other federal agencies, FEMA’s top priority is helping identify urgent needs and stabilizing critical lifelines like power, water, and communications. Thank you @POTUS Trump for approval of two emergency declarations providing federal resources and technical expertise, including 400 FEMA and federal staff to assist in these efforts. Our prayers are with those who have been affected by the storm. We will continue to work around the clock to ensure a safe and smooth recovery on the islands.
