For those of you who have daughters in high school ages now, what are you advising them to do after high school? With Ai being such a big issue, where do you guide your children these days?

5 minutes ago, @karpathy just dropped karpathy/jobs! he scraped every job in the US economy (342 occupations from BLS), scored each one's AI exposure 0-10 using an LLM, and visualized it as a treemap. if your whole job happens on a screen you're cooked. average score across all jobs is 5.3/10. software devs: 8-9. roofers: 0-1. medical transcriptionists: 10/10 💀 karpathy.ai/jobs

@FinFreedom414 A, but then I’d go get married and have kids and fill that house with chaos.

Imagine you had to choose your life at age 40: Option A: Single. No kids. $10M net worth. Travel anywhere. Total freedom. Quiet house. Quiet holidays. Option B: Married. 3 kids. $1M net worth. Drive a Toyota. Chaos every morning. Loud house. Full dinner table. Be honest, which life are you choosing?

George Carlin once said, “Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.” What is a good example of that?

@LRiddickESPN I love that people seem to forget how challenged the Cardinals have been from a talent standpoint. Conner obviously outproduced, McBride is great, and MHJ might develop into something more but not yet. Multiple HCs, bad defense, terrible ownership.. maybe Kyler isn’t the problem

So…KOC says Kyler fits what they ask their QB’s to do, but others pick out some stats that say he can’t do what they think KOC’s offense wants to do. Because they know what KOC’s offense wants to do more than KOC himself. Got it.

@tubingtyler1 I wonder how that feedback loop works… I used to just decline them and man every week I’d get like +10 more spam calls a day. Like who is answering and moving forward with these things that keeps spam calls alive?!

@BillyM2k Background noise. Nobody watched Big Bang Theory and judged the jokes or the dialogue, they’d just had it on while they scrolled Instagram.

Same thing happened to me last year in Prescott, AZ. Cop lied about why I was pulled over & then assumed I was under the influence. Breathalyzed my passengers before I was even talked to. I blew .00 & then just said it was marijuana😂 police report said I was incoherent but I didn’t even talk to anyone for like the first 30 min.
Immaculate Vibes@SoSaysJ

Dillon Brooks blows a .00 and the cop immediately accuses him of lying about smoking marijuana. It certainly sounds like the officer was unhappy about Dillon blowing a .00 and was looking for something else to arrest him on. Also, the overall footage appears to confirm that ZERO marijuana located in a vehicle.

@BillyM2k Makes no sense. Iran’s goal as the lesser equipped country in combat, should be to make the war as expensive as possible. Thereby shortening the war due to economics. An attack on home soil would only galvinize, entrench, and prolong.

Genuine question on a restaurant situation: You walk up to a counter to order. You find your own table and seat yourself. If you order coffee, they hand you a cup and you go fill it up yourself. If you order food, they hand you a buzzer and when it goes off, you go pick it up yourself. The iPad has a “20%, 25%, 30%, Other” tip option, with 20% already preselected. What’s your move?

What percentage do people think is more appropriate? Is it 0%? That just means you think 100% of hate speech should be targeted at women and non-whites. That sounds… uh pretty racist (and misogynistic). So the answer is probably not 0%. Let’s say you think that yeah, hate speech is bad, but let’s at least distribute it evenly according to population. Well, in the US, up to 61% of people identify as white. And of the remaining, half are male. 61% plus 19-20% means ~80% are either white or male (or both), yeah? Hence, unless someone can give me a more defensible outline of what the appropriate *percentage* of hate speech is to be directed at “men and whites,” it looks like the appropriate percentage is about 80%. So 90% is still higher than that, but it’s really only a bit higher, not crazy high.

@mtaibbi I think it’s totally ok for people to not have kids if they don’t want them, lord knows we don’t need more uncommitted parents. But easily the best thing for me is sharing time and space with my kids and watching them discover the world. Can’t think of anything I’d rather do.
